No, its the effects óf mass uncontrolled immigration (like a lot of the things you don't want to side on like human trafficking, child grooming gangs, rioting/looting, increases in sexual assault and general criminal behavior etc) that is the crutch they have. And the answer to those things from the left has so far been:
" its not a problem because its a good thing and enrichment of culture"
or
"we don't know what to do about it because we might be called racist"

This is most likely for a lot of reasons, doesn't automatically mean that the left failed them, these people could have been pieces of shit to begin with is just one possible explanation. To bring back my original point though, being able to look past all the stuff I mentioned (and I didn't even touch on Russian talking points, illegal war and the Epstein stuff) because "the left failed me" is pretty disturbing if you think about it, no? If we can't at least agree on that then I think we have to call time here

I just gained a lot of respect for him, man seems to keep some genuine artistic standards in the face of in-group (political/ideological) pressure.
Reverse the question: What exactly is Good about it? Why the crammy, pushy need to mutate and alter existing pieces of lore or fiction, with a specific vision rooted in the creator's imagination, cultural context, and historical moment, for contemporary social engineering?
Because if your goal is "real gender or race equality" in movies -> pretty much everyone hates it, and is adversed to it. They bomb enmass at the box office. You're actually achieving the opposite.
Presenting these kinds of current day policically charged altered versions as "faithful adaptations" misleads audiences who're (unlike perhaps you or I) genuinly invested in the franchise. They virtue signal without earning it through any sort of original creation, it disrespects any (emotional) investment and the deceased creators who cannot consent. It treats cultural heritage as malleable public property for current politics rather than a legacy to steward.
Further more, and this might be something "wokies" can agree on with me for a change, lol : Force swappings like this undermine genuine achievements by the aformentioned " minorities" by implying existing characters must be "diversified" rather than telling new stories from diverse perspectives. This is why a lot of people who had 0 problem and big praise for Black Panther, think a black james bond is absolute cancer.

Hence why I actually hope "the left" finds it in itself to actually bé the party of common (working) man again.. instead of the party of everyone else except them.
