We have an act here in NL who's sort of a similar political comedy act...
They call themselves "The Party Against Citizens" (partij tegen de burger) Who's sole job and party mandate/program is to, unequivocally, unabashedly, and totally honest..Hate on, and make life miserable for everyone to the maximum. if elected

We don't however know, (And i'm really playing devils advocate here given the " pattern" we've seen over the last few decades) if she indeed got Pim Fortuyn'd/ Charly Kirked, for her political views.

Strange one this, especially with the way it's being reported.
The initial reports of her passing didn't mention anything in regards to suspected foul play, then a couple of hours later they were looking into a possible murder, then to arresting a man in connection only to release him the next day.
They are now saying she'd been dead for at least 24 hours before her body was discovered and are still treating it as a murder.
All a bit grim really.

They've now arrested a 28yo man in connection with her murder and are saying that they have no further suspects and that they do not suspect a terrorist motive (so not likely a political motivated attack)
My first thoughts would be a burglary gone wrong, but they've arrested this guy over 200 miles away in Rochdale.
The whole situation is very strange.
That said, I hope they've got the right man and he is brought to justice.
I wasn't a fan of Widdecombe or her political beliefs, but murdering an elderly lady in her home can never be justified.

Never fails to amaze me how a scene which was born out of underground gay seventies disco catering for the marginalised now - 40-odd years later - seems to attract so many alt-right, Reform-endorsing, climate denying, misogynistic, homophobic conspiracy theorists.

Not really....I think its (psychologically) actually quite understandable.
The traits you mention @Super-Frog Saves Tokyo share a thing in common. They all go against State sanctioned, endorsed (or in some cased even enforced..) Narratives.
Trance specifically as a genre primarily developed in Frankfurt, Germany, when the Wall then fell in berlin and State enforced Socialist docrines where replaced with Freedom (of thought, speech, and exploration/expression Both scenes mixed In the (underground) abandoned warehouses of a collapsing empire, dying under the weight of its own failing ideology. Broader European rave culture(s) virtually everywhere carry an anti-authority and free-party element with them, though not perse anti socialist/ussr.. It is hence:
a Genre (or movement) born in a Zeitgeist of Change against what was and focused on anti-establishment/ freedom.
40 years later we find ourselves in a position where the overwhelming amount of institutes in Eu/Western States pretty much are all on board with, endorse, proselytize and sanction narratives of:
- Progressivism/ Globalism
- (Mass) immigration
- Climate change
- Feminism
- Lgbtq+ "alphabetism" etc.
I think the element of Freedom and suspicion of said government/big institute/company narratives is still very much present in the scene as an underlying subconcious axiom. which explains the attraction to it from "heretic dissidents" so to speak.
