Enjoy. When I heard this again after a long time I fell in love with trance once more. First time I heard was on the Ferry mix compilation "Washington World Tour". Somehow you always seem to come back to where it all started, even when you thought you had moved on long ago, after calling it cheesy over and over you still find yourself stuck with some tunes or certain styles :)

Original.

The original is unbelievably good! Such a classic from 2002. Pure perfection and uplifting trance at its best.

It has a certain emotion to it, and I respect that about it. Sort of happy-sad uplifting. You need to be in that mood to appreciate it fully. The vocal aahs are pretty great too. Does it predate all the melodramatic orchestral in style?

After all these years (listened to trance since 2002) this breaks into my top 10 of all time I think. I delivers so much RAW emotion without being cheap or overblown. I love the lofi claps , the mid-rangey bubbly bassline, the dirty fx. This is pure trance to me. I know that its not objectively pure trance as in 90s deep/acid/oldschool trance, but anyways, just great.

Yeah, I bet everyone has their own idea of what pure trance is to them, can't blame you for it. It's usually one of the first tracks you've heard that have blown you away and stayed with you since. The Timelord is for me.

It wasnt the first track, actually far from it. I think i heard this in 2005 - 2007 actually.

And i said one of them. Having one track or whatever to defend as "your" track of pure trance is just silly btw. I have a very soft spot for timelord aswell, because I was a collector of the trancemaster series (which it was on) back in the day and the track always fascinated me back then, before youtube and free access to music and all that.

Yeah this is it, the Ferry Remix I mean. It is easily one of the top tunes for me ever. I think @Gagi said it best, it has this happy-sad feeling in it and that is what makes it for me. A complete Trance tune and it will last for ages.

Pure euphoria that buildup is so euphoric. The extended mix is far better this one is 10 minutes long

I might be wrong here, but I don't think this is an official version. Regardless I don't think it's better even with the added length. Feels like someone's made an edit (possibly for DJ'ing purposes) and dragged it out. There' not the same build up in the beginning unlike the 7m 54 version where after the opening strings and vocal ahh's you have that percussion etc building layer by layer.

Maybe @Muzikxpress can share some light since he used to work for Ferry or still does. I don't know how the uploader must have done it.
