Another gem from EA4.

Coredata a.k.a. Jonny Royall is a young UK producer with his influence set very firmly in Platipus' halcyon days, and 94 is taken from Electronic Architecture Vol. 4. The track was heavily edited for the album, this is Jonny's original vision. A 134-bpm rubbery acidic bassline and saturated 909 percussion form the bedrock with stuttered vocal samples and plenty of head-spinning FX, until an epic break with all the feels is unleashed. There is something very Renaissance about this, hence the title.

The best bassline in years? Maybe not enough energy but it's actually fun and quirky instead.

Overall, good track but I felt it needed something more. And maybe that bassline is a bit louder than it should be.

Good track, of course its not 144 thats obvious....not a big fan of these funky basslines, it makes the tracks way to housey...
I prefer rolling straight basslines :) but in this track it kinda works fine...cool oldschool feel...probably around 7/10 from me

It really does not sound like it, why did BP list it as 144 I don't know. Sounds like 132-134, maybe even slower a bit.

Anyways, liking it more on my speakers, sounds much better. Maybe I'm not looking for details as much on the speakers, but it definitely feels more tailored for them.

Groovy bass.

When the melody finally enters the mix is when the track fully grabs me. Would have liked more of those melodic pieces building up in the 5/6 mins leading up to that point. When it all comes together its a wonderful track.

The latter part of the track is really where it comes alive with the melodic elements. The first half is a bit too empty with just the bassline and percussion. The track would have benefitted from being more 'focused' in its arrangement.

I don't think it's even meant to be melodically rich, Freezer. That said, some harmonic richness would have made it better. But it's grown on me with each listen so far.

Given this more of a chance over the week. At first I didn't get so much connection from it, but now I love it. I felt too empty first but its come onto the heaphones a number of times and i've been blown away, especially the second part. A real grower and one of the best from the year.

Anyone else think an Activa vs Coredata track would be great to see?

Good. Wouldn't say it is Hoopoe-level mind-blowing, but it's definitely better than almost all new trance releases
