It's time to let them fly away
So you know how much it hurt
It's never known just who you can leave
Because you're trapped inside within, see

You have a kindness in your heart
But then you listen to the voices in the dark
And you say there's voice in me
I'm not the one to set you free

Technological-sounding trance.
My favorite version is the Magnus remix, a driving melodic psytrancer that is IMO one of his best productions.

April 10th, 2022 edit: added the lyrics, or at least what I can hear *are* the lyrics

Lol, didn't know Magnus' sound hadn't really changed in 5 years. That is a good thing, his style is truly amazing. The original doesn't sound too shabby too, although the equalization makes it sound really weird in my opinion.

I think this sound goes all the way back to the Render One EP from 2014, but yeah he's fairly consistent.
So this is a bit of a stretch, but his style reminds me of '80s italo disco. Voices in the Dark wouldn't sound terribly out of place in a synthwave mix, either.
That could be why his style is so good and sounds so unique - because no one else is drawing inspiration from there.

Bump!!!
One of my favorites from this decade. I love how triumphant and uplifting it sounds, even if the lyrics are a bit sad.
Magnus truly has a flair for elevating simple, short melodies into amazing trance.

Bump!

Am I the only one that raves about this track? It's very well executed uplifting/psytrance. Would love to hear it live.

Was listening to this track the other day and heard the lyrics differently:

(1:25)
It's time to let them fly away
So you know how much it hurt
It's never known just who you can be
Because you're trapped inside a fantasy
(2:21, 3:45)
You heard a kindness in your heart
But then you listen to the voices in the dark
And you say those words to me
I'm not the one to set you free

The lyrics are actually clearer in the original mix, and the first line starting at 1:56 sounds more like:

It's got to let them fly away
or:
It's good to let them fly away

The line
And you say those words to me
Doesn't seem right in the original, either

-snip-

I'd argue:

You've got to let them fly away
So you know how much it hurts
You've never known just who you can be
Because you're trapped inside a fantasy

You have a kindness in your heart
But then you listen to the voices in the dark
And you say those words to me
I'm not the one to set you free

And yeah, Magnus remix all day every day.

I just realized that, in the background, you can hear a faint "free" repeating throughout the track. It starts at about 2:30 and gets progressively more noticeable.

IMO this is one of the best trance tracks of the 2010s. I would have liked to see it played at a big trance event like Transmission, just to see the audience's reaction. It's too good to have been slept on :(
