The Girl with the Rainbow Hat is fantastic. Dark Matter is easily one of my favorite producers at the moment.

TGWTRH is my pick out the two, but struggle with both... Almost waiting for something that never comes.

Both are great in their own way. I like the minimalistic approach with Under the Influence (which uses the Planisphere percussion - don't think I didn't notice! - and similar ideas), whereas the Girl with the Rainbow Hat is a bit more colourful.

Overall, I think I choose Under the Influence. But I agree with @MDD, it could've used an additional element or two in the "climax" section, to build up to something. But I like it nonetheless.

Thanks for your comments everybody!

'Under the Influence' is my personal big favorite from this release, It reminds me of the classic Incolumis tracks. It's all about the vibe here, It's dark, deep and emotional. Most people mentioned about the minimalism in this track, you're right and this is what makes it a special track actually.

'Girl with the Rainbow Hat' on a B-Side is a really contrast track, It's something that Markus Schulz used to end his GDJB mixes with around 10 years ago, It's on the edge of 'happiness' and 'brightness' that I like in Trance music when It's done right, some hints of classic Airbase sound in this one.

'Girl with the Rainbow Hat' is all kind of good. Schultz from back in day when Coldhabour was the go to label.

ILike them both but agree with comments above that I was expecting something more to happen. Tracks of course can be minimal/sparse/raw like the Techno genre, but it feels like UTI for example doesn't commit fully to this type of approach and instead teases us with some elements that indicate a story/journey/progression is gonna happen, but in the end that never materialises. It feels like the track is in middle space which is pleasing yet not memorable enough or ask any emotion of me.

Mmm, progressive.. can go either way.
Most it it has already been said. The original is quite boring and goes nowhere really. I cannot think of any element that grabs my attention.
The remix really opens it up with a cool oldschool Coldharbour feeling to it. Too bad the melody is forgettable.
