Deepcry - Café del Mar [Pure Breaks]

[NameLessYet]

New Pure Breaks, a remix by Deepcry of one of my all time favourite.

Prog luminary Deepcry (aka Jon Coles) has taken the classic Café del Mar and given it an epic, breaks driven shakedown in this mighty cover version. The Wim Mertens-inspired melody is of course all present and correct, with a huge and punchy arrangement that takes no prisoners.

I think it's gonna be the best remix of all time along with Three 'n One

truly wasted potential

I will prefer this breaks version:

Soul Wun - Fight or Flight [Gallery Recordings] 2024

[Sleepy Robot]

Could be good, need to hear the full track.
What makes this a cover instead of a remix?

Lovely, thanks for that.

[Magdelayna]

Heres my cover,with some breaks...

[proxi]

That's easily better than the Deepcry one too.

Jon’s not on this forum so I’ll step in. He made a new track which - subconsciously - took some inspiration from CDM lead rhythm. It was fairly subtle to the point I didn’t pick up on it, but he did. So to head off any potential criticism of that, he did this cover version of CDM, which he hoped to release alongside the original track. Rich only wanted to release this cover though.
IMO it is a cover and not a remix as there are no samples of any version or remix of CDM in it.

it's a cover because Jon sang this acoustically
