Did trance ever have any "scandals?"

This is one of the few I remember myself.

Adam Ellis feat. Crystal Blakk - All in Your Mind

Released on VII Vol. I in 2018, and Giuseppe Ottaviani signed it to his label GO Music not long after. What Adam forgot to tell however, was that it wasn't an original track of his, but a remake of All in My Mind by Kevin. When GO found out, he posted this:

It lead to a lot of drama happening in just a few days, but I think Adam handled the situation pretty well:

I personally think both are at fault here, Adam obviously should've mentioned that it was a remake but at the same time GO should've asked him about it before making any accusation as well. The extended version of the song has never been released as far as I know.

I mean stealing someone's work and than talking about fail producers, riiigh...

'I don't think you have the high ground buddy'

I don't like GO like a person, but in this case this is the way to go 100%. We talked with a fairly big producer I think two months ago, he was contacted by some unknown singer and she somehow got a hold of the vocal part of a song that was pretty big this summer. So they made the song and imagine this guy's surprise when he played it in a big festival right before releasing and people congratulating him on the great 'remix' he did. That song could of ended his career and he wasn't sure if he want to out that singer. But he should and the same applies here.

With that said who would want to work with a label that releases plagiarized music.

So on this one I completely agree with GO.

Nah, GO is not the asshole here, and nor is he at fault.
In that second screenshot, Adam Ellis is straight up gaslighting. He knew what he was doing, and he tried to pass off others' work as his own. He only "clarified" when his plagiarism was uncovered. Richard Gough and GO are smart enough to see through Adam Ellis' bullshit.

Remember PVD fell off the stage at a festival, got seriously injured and then had the festival deny any culpability and completely ignore him. He wasn’t a happy man.

Another minor one is when that RnB singer used Arty & Mat zo’s Rebound as the music in his shit track.

What the heck, that was will.i.am. From the article:
Arty, Mat Zo, and Anjunabeats label head Jono Grant have been voicing their own concerns. Arty took to twitter claiming that will.i.am never cleared the rights with Anjunabeats, who owns the rights for “Rebound.” Jono Grant tweeted earlier, “Poor form by Will I am nicking @mat_zo and @arty_music ‘s track “Rebound” without asking the artist or label @anjunabeats ! #dotherightthing” (since deleted). Mat Zo has seemingly deactivated his twitter account in disgust. This isn’t the first controversy to spark behind #willpower. British singer-songwriter Tulisa is currently suing Will for song royalties to “Scream & Shout.”

Mixmag has also spoken with a number of other people who believe they may have been raped by Morillo, or who say they know someone who was raped by Morillo. These people do not want to make statements, either because they are afraid of retaliation, because they do not want to relive the trauma, or because they have no memory of exactly what happened after they blacked out in Morillo’s company.

Jasmine should have had all her alarms go off when she met him again, just like in that house party in 2010 :/ if someone makes you feel unsafe/weird to the point that you have to sneak out of a gated community and call for a taxi, trust your gut always when you're near that person and never put yourself in a position where they can take advantage of you. He pretty much date-raped her. It's not her fault, though - she couldn't have known what kind of monster he really was.

Taylor: damn it, I wish she had been with a male friend when Morillo went to her house to "pick up the paperwork"

Katia:
Around seven years later, Katia’s then-boyfriend, an aspiring DJ, convinced Katia to go to a dinner with him, knowing that Morillo would be there. Katia had told him about Morillo assaulting her and says that her ex never took the story seriously. Katia protested against going to the dinner but eventually relented. At the restaurant, Morillo asked to see Katia’s breasts in front of her ex and commented on her “perfect breasts”. Her ex said, “Ok. We’re leaving. Let’s go.” “I said, ‘I fucking told you, he is sick, he is a sick person,’” Katia says
I'm glad that guy is an ex. Jfc the bar with men is so low. When your girlfriend tells you that a guy is sketchy and makes her uncomfortable, you believe her full stop and don't let him get anywhere near her.

Hannah: the fact that she asked Mixmag to "withhold the upsetting details" is chilling.

Rosie: sounds par for the course :/

Don:
“There was something about him that I just didn’t really like,” he says.
Yup, trust your gut. Creeps and rapists ALWAYS make normal people feel "off." You recognize they're dangerous but you don't know why.

Dave Lambert: I've got no comment other than this is why men need to call out shit men

Aris: holy shit that was scary. And her friend is dumb:
she informed me that afterwards he’d hit on another colleague, gone back to the hotel where we were staying and lain outside her hotel room banging on the door all night saying she was the most beautiful woman ever, blah, blah. As she had laughed the whole business off

Anna Chapman: ALSO really scary.
She went to the bathroom downstairs at one point and when she came out Morillo was blocking the hallway. “He had this really horrible look on his face and he was laughing and I was kind of trapped by him and it was just me — there was no one else around, they were all outside having fun. And it was just really sinister and horrible,” she says.
I'm imagining this kind of face.

DJ Empress: holy shit.
“He would come up behind me and rub his dick all over my legs and butt when I was facing the wall putting away records while breathing his hot, wet breath into my ears and whisper perverted sexual things he wanted to do to me,” Empress wrote in her post. She was only 17 at the time.

Absolutely no idea how you could think ripping off someone’s track “as long as you are not using the original parts” is ok. Especially someone who already has prior experience in the music industry.

He’s either exceptionally stupid or lying to cover his back side.

A current scandal that is happening right now and every week is guys like Bixx using ghost producers and passing off the music as their own. And filling their social media with motivational quotes - oh the irony! What i dont get though is fellow producers actually supporting him doing it...

I heard @Sneijder on here say the other week that 90% of producers use ghosts - surely that cant be true?! Its just being an absolute fake imo.

Tbh that would explain the state of the trance scene. Every producer shares the same ghost producers, who are churning out tracks like a conveyor belt

Inspiration quotes on social media is peak "influencer." I wouldn't be surprised if most of their work were in fact garbage.
