Another one day song, but I think I stumbled upon something really good, I put a lot of effort in the one thing I am very very bad at - variation. I restarted my pure progressive sessions and seems it pays off. I think I got some ideas of listening more progressive lately. The fact that this took half of day makes me so happy.

This is a really special track Recharge. I really enjoyed listening to it.

Has quite a unique vibe to it. A lot of feeling and depth. Ambience to the max.
Perhaps id call it Ambient House as genre’s go but genre labels don’t really mean as much as they did once.

I think I’ve achieved some tunes with a kind of feel a long these lines but in my opinion, you’ve nailed it with this track.

The pluck with big delay reverb fx that comes in fairly near the start. Id love to know what make the fx are, has such an beautiful water feel space to it (if that makes sense) I’m gonna make a prediction it’s Valhalla Supermassive as ive got no other fx that can produce a reverb with that much almost cold feel ( in a good ambient way) to it. This melody in your track is providing me with some lovely synesthesia visuals 😌

I love the vocal sample (s) and think they are integrated perfectly. If im right, some of the vocals are automated with fx, or like i do sometimes, put the same sample on various channels/tracks with different levels of fx (or filter levels) to use at different stages of the tune, - i find that a great way to drop in the sample at different places in a track, for example when many parts of the song are muted and the sample plays on its own for a few bars or with just one melody, pad, sound fx (or even bass) behind it.

I would so love this track to go on for longer

Hey. This randomly came on for me when I was on soundcloud. Although not a style I go for, it is pretty nice, and one of the better and most balanced ones I have heard from you. You mentioned variation, but it does need more. The foundation is there, why not be bolder and more expressive, even if its just for a moment? A simple key change or additonal melody or shift in mood can do it.

Variation?

If one thing its very repetitiv to be quite frank. Fading in and out a simple one/two note pluck melody isnt really what i would call variation..

I do get where Dayslepeer is coming. There is a lot more variation in my songs these days but its mainly automation of filter, filter cutoff and some volume automations. I still struggle writing more than melody and having multiple melodies working together or going the lazy route and just changing the melodiys sound preset. Sometimes I have a constant arp going around more changing one, but again variation comes mainly from automating things.

Im kind of similar. Sometimes it’s daunting to change a chord progression. I have made many tracks in the chilled or chilled house style that have a strong element of repetition but sometimes i think repetition is what a track needs but am slowly getting the confidence to try chord changes or key changes i wouldnt have before in tracks that are slightly static. I find sometimes i can find one or two notes for a chord change but struggle with the full chord. I wish i had continued learning piano when i was 13 but I think I struggled a lot with sight reading. ( I basically learned by ear, but I suppose it was hard to learn complex pieces that way.
