Agreed. I'm thinking why and I can't even put it into words - well, without using cliches like journey etc.

because of good sound design. people tried to use some "unique sounding" samples/effects and do overall the sound warm and deep, basically more like about a "trend" now it's just not popular but you could do something similar if you would drop the need to correspond to music trends. and yea the sound was more dirty this is very important. good examples are Lemon8 tracks
