Dousk - The Sunrise [????]

This looks like an unreleased track from Dousk. The only source available was posted on youtube in 2009. My ears tell me this is not a 2009 track, more like 2004 or before.

I absolutely frickin love this progressive masterpiece. It does feel like a typical Dousk and prog release from that era, but its the subtle bits that make it what it is over the 10 mins. Crazy how this is the sort of track getting skipped from the release schedule back then, yet today it would be the best progressive house track of the year by a country mile.

Context is everything, I guess. While I think this has a great groove and some lovely elements, it does sound a bit unfinished to me. I rate Dousk very highly, so maybe this is why I expected something that would blow my mind.

Dude I felt very similar when I first heard this track. Nice early 00s prog, but not much different from all the other from that period. But then something clicked after the 5th, 6th or whatever listen, and it all started coming to life to my ears.

Then after a year of hammering I finally got my friend to drop it at one of the self-organized events we run in the bush and it was fucking majestic. Imagine being in the desert, desolate and dry as shit, but it was perfect clear night and everyone is vibing as the sunset as temps cool down. It was chill but also we moved heaps. You mix this fella in around the 5min mark anyway, it kind of gets to the meat of it quickly but with still some build up.
