138/140 or Uplifting can be as good as any other subgenre of Trance, but It's been what, 14 years now of the same thing over and over again. Think how much the entire Trance sound and genre system changed from 99 to 04. It didn't remain still for even a minute! 14 years!!! of the same structure, feel and approach, its painful stagnation and too hard to swallow for long term listeners. I can now listen to the first 10 seconds of a track and know exactly what's about to take place, from start to finish.
You could argue that if the general structure/formula is still good then why not keep doing it, which is fair enough. There are many good uplifting tracks form the last 5 years that follow the same formula as this one more or less. But It's like (generally speaking) all the good ingredients i.e cohesive flow, pleasant sounds, tension, mysticism, organicness, softness and experimentation got stripped away from the genre as the last 10 years went on... while the loudness and epicness increased so much it becomes almost a caricature of itself. I cant help but think the producers think the explosive melody in the middle is the ONLY identity and soul of the track, the primary thing to master and then build the standard requirements around it just because it needs to be done.
