Benno is one of the very few guys who ever tries to break 4x4 pattern - '7 instead of 8' as Rank1, he also made one of Armin's album tracks back in 2010s that also has some weird signature - 'Last Step Before Heaven'

apart from him, I can only think of Gai Barone, he did that 3x4 trick several times too in his prime era, about 10 years ago

overall it's very difficult to make it sound proper good and not 'off' with a different signature than 4x4, so no wonder only the most skilled guys mess with it

not so much, especially if you don't do a long ass transition, might be trickier to figure out the right moment for switching the lows since there's likely not a standard 16 or 32 bars DJ intro but some more obscure value. but it's still straight beat, so nothing that would make it super hard

what's way worse in terms of dj mixing is when a track has triplets to the drum groove, now that's a nightmare
