So I decided to kick of my Enigmatic Sessions mix series on my YouTube with a playlist created by OpenAI ChatGPT

Track list:
1- Rapid Eye - Santa Cruz (MK-S Remix)
2- Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream (Paul Van Dyk Remix)
3- Selu Vibra - Stargazing (Original Mix)
4- Green Atlas - Circulation
5- Scott Bond vs. Solar Stone - Red Line Highway (Original Mix)
6- Fire & Ice - Para Siempre (Original Mix)
7- Elevation - Clear Blue (Airwave Remix)
8- Airwave - Ladyblue (1992 Flight)
9- Re:Locate - Waterfall (Estuera Remix)
10- The Thrillseekers - NewLife (Lange Remix)

Enjoy!

Not sure I understand. You asked chatGPT to write down a trance classics setlist with 10 tracks? And then mixed the outcome?

Exactly that.
I've been wanting to do a mix series on my channel called 'Enigmatic Sessions' for a while. Now I could have just chosen 10 tracks to mix myself but figured with all the hype around ChatGPT, why not let the AI pick the playlist and I'll mix the set in the order it chose.

What was the prompt you gave it?

This is what I asked. I asked this as I didn't want it to give me all the major staple tracks like;
Binary Finary - 1998/99
Armin - Communication
System F - Out of the Blue
....and so on.

I think you could try and get more creative with it, rather than just have it produce random tracks, although who knows how good GBT will be at understanding requests on style or mood.

I just gave it a go myself, with a little more complexity...

Quite cool that it arranged it by a BPM that increases, and drops off a little towards the end. Clearly didn't pick up on the mood request for dark/atmospheric and deep. Darude Sandstorm in there :p

Yeah it's quite good how it picks it. You can then always say something like, "change track 5 & 11 for something else".....or whatever you want and it'll update the list

What is it about it explicitly that makes it not trance? I'm all in on it not being the most serious form of trance , but it's clearly euro/club trance. Is it rather euro house iyo? Yes , it has the donk hard house baseline but that s about it. The leads are typical euro trance leads of the time.

Sandstorm is one of those tracks for me that it was good when it came out, but I'd never play it in a set. It's been played so much that it's become cheesy.
It's Trance but too commercial for me.
