Some DJs like to sprinkle their style on other productions, to give their fans that expected taste. Change a kick or a bassline and that's it. That what it is. Sometimes it's ok, but in case of tracks that were already perfect, well...

Yep, for most of us it doesn't make sense,
but for their fans it possibly does.

Whilst I can understand those who love the original and see these as not needed, these tracks are almost the original, using all the original sounds but a more punchy kick.
Bryan enjoyed the originals but said that they don't fit in with a modern set, which I agree, and is purely down to my production methods and tailored sound to fit more in line with classics.

Whilst I'm not a fan of having my tracks remixed, I felt this was a great way to go about it and allows me to get my music pushed out to a bigger audience/stage.

Understandable I expect a mixed reaction, but it has brought me a lot of great comments and new people to discover my project 🙂

I can certainly appreciate this. There is nothing wrong with a quality rework / remix if it enables that tune to be enjoyed by a wider audience and enables modern DJs to give it more exposure. I'm one who would eagerly drop this remix in a set (particularly State of Mind).

which I agree

People were dancing hard on trance in 2000. Why wouldn't they now? The music itself works. It's energetic! It's not like it doesn't "work" and needs harder beat. I played your "Waiting For You" in Manchester and imo it sounds GREAT, energetic, fun, well balanced. You don't need a hard kick. Smasher!

Still: I'm positive that Bryan Kearney did it, and uses it in his sets. While I'd love to see him just use the original, it's still... something. So I'm not being negative here. I'm happy he supports the tracks on ASOT. That's awesome. As the amount of support for your tracks is a little bit disappointing to be honest. I feel like litterally every trance deejay should be enthusiastic and spin those tracks till the records are f'in broken! So it's good to see Bryan at least support your tracks, even if it's with the (unnecessary) adjustments.

Because Nath's productions are top sound quality and punchy anyway, surely pitching the originals up would be fine in a set? Otherwise all your tracks kicks and basslines are gonna sound the same all the way through a set.

I can understand reworking old low quality sounding 99 tracks - but not tracks that have modern mastering already.

If you play one of my tracks and then play a modern track there is a notable difference between the depth. Yes it goes through a modern mastering process, but the depth between is noticeable, but if you played it within a classics set, it fits right in.

What do you mean by depth, Nath. Like a fullness of the sound? I just have a feeling it would sound just fine. As Jan said, he dropped it and had great results. Only risk might be that the modern tracks before and after sound inferior ;)

Nothing concrete if it is or isn't going to be released yet. A small discussion has taken place but nothing confirmed.

Hope there's not too many complications with the rights and where to release it and if Bryan Kearney would be happy with Bandcamp only release under your bandcamp account or his..

One thing that really got me with State of Mind was the bassline. I do like this rework, it makes the track more 2010s. But the original has a special place in my heart
