True, but that does make more sense since I consider myself as a progressive lover as well and I can appreciate a good new progressive tunes. Yeah its a forum so we can discuss about it. I dont have anything against Gagi, I think his comments are usualy very constructive. But speaking more in general, I think that this forum consist of like 90% of people who used to love trance somewehere back in time but hates most of the stuff released today. Sometimes I understand the reasons...sometimes I think some of you guys should go on and enjoy what you like, there is no one holding you in trance territory....

But well, its quite weird what Im saying, cause I am personally also a lover of 99-04 period and my alltime list consist only from tracks from this period, but well, somehow I accepted where the trance style developed...but most of you cant really stand it
Nobody is stuck anywhere. People are just calling steroid trance for what it is, lazy bad music.

It's the same that someone could consider progressive music lazy and bad...it's a matter of taste after all. The reason there are tons of steroid trance is simple...lots of people like it and it works well in the club or arena.
The fact is, it's mostly done with template and most of the them sounds very similar.

The reason it's so popular is because it's simple to understand and appeals to the uneducated masses. Like pop music. Progressive music might sound bad and lazy to an untrained ear who cannot appreciate its intricacies or just wants loud melodies to have a good time to, there is a difference.

I understand that and partly agree. But I still think there are some good examples how to do it right. Xijaro and Pitch, Darren Porter for example. Some of their melodies are so complex that it's possible they spent more time making it than the latest Airwave (for example) where there is hardly any progression in the tracks, despite they have 9+ mins.
So my point is even progressive music might be lazy, empty....

The main reason why Factor B is so popular and gets loads of gigs is that hes always got this friendly, smiling, outgoing personality that people like...in a parralel universe he could be some geek who never showed his face in public, just staying in his bedroom and making tracks - and would never get any gigs haha.

It's still template dude but if melodies are your thing and it works for you, great.
The latest Airwave tracks are pretty good so you can't compare the two, to my mind.
Anyway, this topic was about something different and you went off direction there. People have a right to comment if they think something is bad and lazy.

Haha, I was talking more about the progressive house our friend comments on sometimes with stuff like 'it has no melody so its worth nothing'
