The Germany disallowed goal was soft, but I think it was the correct decision. Mental they are out against Paraguay, who the US out 4 against. Maybe we underestimated the US. As for the dutch... I'd be livid as a fan for them. Looked good in groups, out in round 32 is tough. Didn't look good or deserve to win. Now Canada need a miracle to progress as they'll play Morocco, but they've already got further than most predicted. Fun day of footy yesterday.
I'm off to Georgia today for the England vs Congo game! Friend from UK just told me this morning he is there with a free spare ticket

Only one here who might think that Croatia goal being ruled is fair? Hated to see it, but I do personally see the ball change trajectory slightly after the touch, and the sensor picked up contact. Rules are rules, so would make it offside, what's the officials to do? Modric made the point about VAR only stepping in if clear or obvious, which from the video replay it is not, but that sensor reading changes everything, it's clear.
Anyway should be nervous for England boys today for the hard game, but feel confident. Some reason think today we finally turn up as a team, based nothing I've seen so far. Delusion and optimism. Definitely the hardest game we have in the tournament so far, and I've been to Azteca, it's no joke. Probably shouldn't host knock out games there tbh, given lack of opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude in such a short time. Mexico been there all month already so def have an advantage. Definitely helps them, but realistically should be beating em regardless.

I worked 3 x12 hour shifts over the weekend and was up at 5:30 am on Sunday, so it was unlikely I was making it to 1am for the England game.
I completely gave up once they moved it to 2am and just went to bed instead.
Looks like I missed an amazing game though!

One of the best,most intense matches ive ever seen...went to bed at 5am,but it was worth it! A sensational performance from every player when all the odds were against us....Bellingham was amazing.

I'm not a conspiracy type of man, but after watching some of the Argentina games I am finding it harder and harder to disagree that they receive favourable treatment.
One small one that stood out to me is the quick free kick they took against Cape Verde at 2:2. I can't remember the last time I saw a quick free quick allowed by the ref, while the goal keeper was still setting the wall. Not one time in 5 years, yet Messi was allowed to do so.

The Egypt game was a travesty of officiating.
Is it an all out conspiracy? I'd normally say probably not, but Infantino is such a corrupt dirtbag, that I wouldn't put it past him to have some sort of sway.
It's amazing that FIFA went from Sep Blatter, a man remembered more for his rampant corruption than any positive influence he had on the game, to someone many times worse. At least Blatter tried to hide his corruption.
That Swiss red... At first I was in uproar, because even though clearly a dive, I have never seen VAR step in to review a yellow before. Now I've learned that they changed the rules for this tournament to allow such intervention, so good call in the end. So unbelievably stupid from Embolo, and good to see him booked. BUT, VAR involvement aside... has a simulation in the middle of the park ever been a yellow before? Penalty box for sure, but think this has got to be a first.
Also for Norways first goal against us... It's a Kane foul in the build up in my eyes. Clearly hits the foot first before hitting the ball, and you can tell by Kane's reaction he's been clipped. OK its a soft foul and ref doesn't call it, so no VAR review, and play on, is a call I would 100% back if I hadn't seen Egypt get their goal disallowed days before for the exact same thing. As usual consistency a big issue with VAR.

Yeah, rooting for Spain. This will get feisty, but their last game against France showed incredible football. I don't think Argentina will win against that.

I do not understand why coaches think it is plausible to defend a 1-0. The only teams that are equipped to do so are Atletico Madrid, maybe Inter Milan and Spain. Clear mistake by Tuchel.
