ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

Some cool ideas, but what lacks in these kind of tunes is often, I find, some cohesiveness. In any case, nice ones.

Pretty nice. Still have mixed feelings about this neo Trance genre, as Gagi says it often doesn't have a cohesion and flow, mainly due to the housey beat. But the sounds they use are so niceeee. And there are always moments which get me in that Trance place. This is another Norweigen producer, they seem to be on fire with this kind of sound right now. Good to see a country 'own' a style like this.

Here is Underworld. Nice too, but Bull of heavens takes my pick!

This has become my nr 1 of 2021. I can listen to it again and again and again, and again.

It has everything I miss in "normal" trance. It morphs and changes, I LOVE how it goes through phases, evolves and devolves, builds, and explodes. Just listen how it changes from 3.00 min onwards where it feels slighty more anxious and tense, and then completely changes and lets you into this magical safezone of complete bliss at 4.44. I fuckin love this shit. And then it starts building again, closer and closer to godly status.
