Full version vs. "Synthapella"

Hi all, I'm wrapping up a track where I built all melodies and atmosphere to flow as smoothly as possible, almost like an Ambient track. Together with the full version I plan to release a "synthapella" where I strip all the drums, percussion, basslines and related FX away, but leave the rest unedited. Compare both versions below:

What are your thoughts on this approach?

I appreciate their is a journey in the track, and the energy is good, I like the baseline. Musically not too interesting to me, wonder if it needed another melodic element to support the ambient atmosphere you've used the primary hook. Track reminds me a bit of Magdelayna 4x4 track actually.

Mastering/mix is hardest thing for me to get over. Just need a bit more breathing room/spaciousness. Doesnt sound bad though.

Hi mate, thanks for the feedback.

The second link was dead for some reason, removing the point of this thread. It's fixed now.

I understand this Ambient Trance style is strongly taste dependent ;). For now I just wanted to see what it could be when not compromising on the ambience, which imo is the most important part of a track. I'm definitely thinking about trying some more explicit melodies with a similar style of atmo soon though.

The point about the mastering I can certainly get behind! I try not to mix out too much of the soul of a track by keeping a lot of the mids, but if I subsequently smash the dynamics too hard the life gets sucked out anyway...

Cheers!
