1999 year definitely is one of the sign years for trance. Many of trance all-time hits was created in this year. Title of this track is saying itself.
You're also talking about '99 as well?where it was only about one single synth riff
less so even in the biggest tracks such a synaesthesia, for an angel, into the blue, airwave etc. Theres more to them really. I used to think they were only 1 part to them aswell, but now afterwards ive find these tracks more detailed and focused. Its not just beats-break-mainriff-beat- mainriff- beats. it was intro-tension/build/small melody/ introduction to melody-mainriff-middlepart melody-mainriff/second melody-outro. Some were simpler, but in general they had more to them, even if it doesnt seem so on the surface. They were more eloborated imo. Seriously go listen to the full version of any of those tracks. They are not like this one above. Or maybe im wrong. Theres something mediocre about this one though. Could be the usage of default trance presets / no originalty. You're also talking about '99 as well?
I mean, this exact kind/style of tracks you could find in '99 as well. Reminds me of Tiesto, in parts.
As for my own opinion, I would've liked it had I discovered it 8 years ago. Since then, I've kinda grown tired of the overdramatic main melodies and the style overall. That's not to say this is bad, just not my thing anymore.
Yeah we're in agreement there was some subtlety in those (and a lot of other) tracks which made them special, but you are talking about the most popular tracks from that era, and I'm talking about average ones.1999, although richer in huge releases all across the sub-genres than 2008, wasn't all rainbows and butterflies. Well, to me, this track is an ode to an average 1999 track of that style with a modern production, and in that it succeeded.less so even in the biggest tracks such a synaesthesia, for an angel, into the blue, airwave etc. Theres more to them really. But im not saying 1999 was the best year or something like that. There has always been mediocre tracks. Maybe less so some years.
