Broke my own record today. Made a Spanish omelette, with 1 onion, 5 medium potatoes and 7 large eggs. Ate all of it. It's like 1500 calories, quite possibly more. But it's just so, so good.

breakfast: popeye smoothie & black coffee
Lunch: russian borsj & a very unhealthypiece of chocolate pancake for desert.
Dinner: a 100% self made hamburger (with the exception of actually slaughtering the cow). & salad

What sort of buns did you make? Brioche, I guess? Or? Details!!

yup. tried it with self made italian buns before but they 're no substitude. Brioche arent all that hard to make even, especially since my wife bought us a breadmaker machine for the dough.

the Burger is a beaf-breastpiece which we meatloafed the day before, and turned into burgers using egg yolk, pepper salt, fresh oregano and smoked paprika for spicing.

The mayo we made is a citrus/mustard variant with dille. (you do want to use a very thin sunflower oil for this one to get the taste out)

onions (caramilized ofcourse) & romaine lettuce are from my dads garden back & friesland,

pickled tomatoes and.. well, just pickles are from babusha's datsha back in Russia, which add a little more sour to the mix then the stuff you usually buy in a jar.

only thing not homegrown are the ( flesh )tomatoes.

I used a grill pan for this one due to time constraints, but in a optimal situation i would use the barbeque. that smokey flavor on the beef, buns & onions....drool.

Haha, well people (burger purists, if you consider them people) would say that's not a burger anymore, but a meatloaf. Tried something similar with pork, not my thing really. 100% meat is how I prefer it.

I make my own beef-only (I also made them from mutton once, amazing!). Just gently shape them (no overhandling), no seasoning (salt & pepper on the side that's just about to hit the pan), no pressing, just leave them be on high heat for a couple of minutes and then flip and repeat.

Would have to try brioche though, but I'm short on equipment, willpower, and willingness to wash so many dishes for that. Great job on the condiments too.

Haha no, just with nothing added to the meat.

Something along the lines of this:

Though the actual first burger was meat placed between two slices of bread/toast actually. Gotta try that as well.

Self-made tomato soup. Take a packet soup with tomato flavour, slice an extra tomato and put it into the soup. Delicious!

Gorgeous boiled-then-fried Carniolan sausage, inside a grilled bun, with hot mustard, garlic mayo, cheese and caramelized onions. Times two.

About to have boiled-then-fried chicken livers and hearts with potatoes, onion and garlic.
