I listened to high definition trance tracks and my ears , brain and illusion are shattered.

Recently I found and downloaded some random trance tracks , over 40 in all , that somehow happened to be HD audio , 24bit /96khz lossless format with known producers with recent track like Cold Blue, Alex Morph, John 0'Callaghan, Richard Durand etc... Sound is clean, warm , alive , very much vinyl like but more electric if it makes sense. I always wanted to have high quality audio and I was not satisfied with cd wav and I barely ever tolerated mp3 but this is another thing all together. It really gives life to any track and I would buy any good track with it.

Where exactly did you get those 24 bit / 96 kHz files from? I can only find up to 24 bit / 48 kHz songs on the audiophile websites I'm active on (and that's for trance-adjacent music, for the artists you've listed I can only find up to 24 bit / 44.1 kHz). Are you sure they're legit and not AI upscaled?

Forum doesn't allow song sharing like it's 2000 napster. It's real though, here is screen shot from a classic and more recent one. Apparently real digital records are stored in 24bit/192khz so it's not on cd and typical download store. 96khz makes a difference for airiness , flow and warmth of a track . I bet 192khz is better though.

I wouldn't call their track 'high resolution' none of their recent tracks are high resolution. Have a listen to a lot of older trance it has a warmer sound albeit lower bit quality but the current stuff is too loud for me.

Hate to break it to you, but those numbers mean nothing. I can convert any 128 kbps MP3 to 24 bit / 192 kHz WAV using programs like Audacity, which does nothing to the sound quality. Once again, where did you get these files from?

I'm being ragebaited again, aren't I lmao

Interesting discussion. Since we're talking about high-resolution audio and what is actually present in a file, I'd like to mention Audio Fake Detector PRO.

It's a tool I developed to help detect upsampled and fake hi-res audio by analyzing the spectrum and other audio characteristics.

If its some very old track, or one not in the download stores, feel free to share one.
exactly like it's 2000 napster

There is a drop off in frequency but it goes up to almost 30khz but decibels only go to 90db whereas 24bit is about 140db. What do you think?

I think I only hear till around 16 kHz so if you download any Julian track in 1000 quality, you will hear nothing in that 20-30khz region, at least nothing that I willingly put in it lol.

But most importantly, I don’t think any producer renders their project in other format than 24khz.48000 or 16-41000.

So if nobody renders their project in those extreme formats you mention, you can never ever obtain a file with that quality.

And you are talking about old classics even? From the time period where file size was actually important? I can’t imagine them rendering a gigabite track in 2000…. For frequencies that humans cannot hear…

that's it, and even if the project is rendered at 24/48, the samples used (drums, effects, atmospheres, maybe vocals etc) are likely to be 16/44,1 which makes the whole track to be partially upconverted. if we're talking of extremes like 24/96 or 32/192, it only increases the amount of upconverted/upsampled elements within the track, it doesn't add extra value

Basically this yeah, hence why I kept asking where you got these files from. Them having frequencies above 30 kHz proves nothing if you got them from a random website given how AI upscaling has been a thing for years now.
