Superb progressive electro tech trance if such a thing exists. I like the way it builds in stages. There is clever use of what sounds like a hip-hop vocal sample in the first stage. The second stage of build up starts at 2:11 and then another at 2:35 which forms a nice melodic bridge to the breakdown.
The breakdown is pretty special with a superb epic melody complemented by a vocal sample which sounds like it was taken from an ethnic type song. The melody after the breakdown is darker and more simple but in keeping with the overall mood of the track, and then comes the outro.
Great effort, but unfortunately all the other tracks I've heard from Jamie Walker have been disappointing average trance.

To be honest "Riot" is so far that one track I found dissapoiting myself (maybe due to slow speed/the Armada-bigroom-style build-up and drop) as I stopped following him since 2012 and haven't paid attention to his music since then. But overall I don't agree with you and have to say he released some very good tunes.

I consider his "Brainwave" as one of the most unique trance tracks which has a drum & bass sample in the breakdown, this way combining my 2 favourite electronic music genres.

It was out in 2012 - a "golden age" for Defcon Recordings as I like to say, as it was my favourite uplifting trance label along with Diverted Music

Also he remixed a track which still remains to be one of my all-time favourite vocal uplifting tracks (out on the same label).

I hadn't heard any of those tracks and not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Brainwave is good up to and including the breakdown and then goes dull for me. His other tracks from 2015 onward have certainly been disappointing from what I've heard.

That description, though
I liked Riot. The melodic part is really nice and gives me early 2000s vibes. This one would go hand-in-hand with something like Will Atkinson - Numb the Pain.
