I couldn't see a post for this (sorry if it is somewhere) and it popped up on my 'new releases' in Spotify. Been busy recently to keep up on new stuff.

Some lovely soundscapes in here. Deffo see alot of digital blonde in these. My pick was Lazer Angels ( the ending lift is lush) and Emerging Beast. Few others were a little more forgettable for me though. Enjoy or not 😜

1. Arabian Nights
2. Dark destroyer
3. Lazor Angels
4. Physchedlia
5. Emerging beast
6. Transcendent Voyage
7. Night Terror

Link to rest

Had no idea he was going to release a new album. This sound surprisingly awesome! Was expecting boring melodic techno but this sounds like his music before that.

The title track is neat. It feels like a sci-fi/cyberpunk OST, or like the proper successor of the old Hook Recordings sound from 2000s-era racing video games.

Interestingly, this release was provided to Youtube by Audio Network Ltd. John 00 Fleming has produced for them before, but basically all of his Audio Network work has flown under the radar with no promotion from him. No wonder we're just hearing about it now.

This is the kind of music meant to be licensed for, say, documentaries, TV, and advertising, which is likely why the songs are all short in length (3-4 min). That duration fits this style surprisingly well. If these were 6-8+ minute productions I wouldn't have bothered in checking out all of them. The shorter duration also forced JOOF to get to the point instead of spending too much time on buildups and ambience, which is a neat change.

Will definitely take a listen. 26 minutes is the perfect length for me these days haha.

The Dark Destroyer is ma fav, but I like all of the tracks, except Emerging Beast which has some strange noises. Very good mini-album in the very DB style :)

Firstly, some these sound very nice. So glad it has more energy and life that the radio show in its current state. After playing WKO again recently though I still dont think I hear anything that will top the tracks there but will hammer this for a few weeks and see.

Only 7 tracks though, each at 4/5 mins? Why so short, not happy to see that.

Also went on his facebook and couldn't find any promotion this month about it at all, unless i'm being blind?

Emerging Beast was my favorite of the release. The weird noises just sound so sick.
JOOF is no stranger to weird sounds; see New Sound!

Yeah, JOOF doesn't publicize/promote his work for the Audio Network. He probably gets a paycheck from them every now and then, and this must have been his latest submission.
This is a "side hustle" compared to his main work as a DJ/label owner, but it probably brings him decent money.

The Digital Blonde: makes a 26-minutes long track
John 00 Fleming: makes a 26-minutes long album 😅

PS. Ricky didn't make so long track yet (probably), just a weak meme xd

The album is pretty good I must say, although I'd love it if he developed those ideas into slightly longer tracks. That said, I have listened to it on my crappy car stereo - it still has to pass the headphone test.

Do you watch TV? Would love it if this music was what they used for ads or documentaries, but cmon. More likely making short tracks for the spotify audience/plays rather than thinking he's gonna sell this in a car advert. Could be that he just wanted to try short tracks too for the challenge, but doubt it personally.

You really wouldn't check the album out if the tracks are 6+ minutes long???

Right? It would be awesome if this were the music used in TV and ads.
I don't know what arrangement JOOF has with the Audio Network. If I had to guess, the Audio Network pays him some amount for his tracks. He himself could think that they suck and that they'll never be used for their intended purpose, but even in that case he's happy receiving a paycheck from them.

Yes, because this isn't my style. Modern, post-2015ish JOOF is boring (to me), but this style in smaller doses is fine.

Not bad at all. So this is not a JOOF release? Why not promo from John

He can still talk about it at least. I cant say im too bothered anyway ha.
You make a good point. Maybe the tracks are not really "his," as they've been sold to the Audio Network?

Anyways, favorites for me:

Emerging Beast. That bassline and the weird sound are just amazing.
Lazer Angels. Nice groove, and interesting pitch shift during the last section of the track
Dark Destroyer. Good uplifting ambience.
