Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite. That's a midrange phone on steroids! 128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM, huge AMOLED screen (it's really hard to find a sub-6 inch screen nowadays), 5 cameras... In fact, the only difference between Mi Note 10 and the Lite are the cameras. Can't wait to get my hands on it tomorrow.

I'm the world's most idiotic man. And the biggest impulse buyer.

I've been looking into kind of switching up my shaving kit. I don't trim very often because I don't have a full beard, so I shave every couple of days instead (sometimes I let it grow out for two weeks or so, just for change).

For years I've been using cartridge/disposable razors. It's quick and painless, but they last very little and cost quite much over time. Plus, the shave is subpar. Then I got myself an electric shaver, and while providing a closer shave, it got me irritated so much, especially under the chin and mid-neck. Avoid.

Straight razors were straight out of the picture. Expensive and tough to master made it a no-brainer. Best leave that to the pros.

So... I came upon safety razors. I know my grandpa used one all the time, and I remember he always had a cut or two from it. But I found a really cheap one, just to try it, so I did. The shave is better, although the irritation is still there (but significantly less than with an electric shaver), plus I'm starting to feel it can't really be avoided.

Ever since, I had my eye out for a more expensive one, which I said to myself I'd buy from my first salary, to sort of treat myself. It's 25$, to sort of round it up. It's not much in first-world money, but it kinda is a luxury in a developing country if you're not employed.

So I headed to the store today with every intent of buying a shaving soap and a shaving brush only, just to try that out too, since it was cheap and I wouldn't regret it if it sucked. But since I was in the shaving section, I noticed the razor, together in a pack with a shaving gel and 5 blades, for 18$. If I bought each one of those apart, it would amount to 40$. What a deal! I had to call up the girl who was working there just to confirm my initial shock. And I've been following the prices too, these things haven't gotten more expensive overnight to make it seem like a great deal (Black Friday anyone?). Alright alright, even at 18$ it's hard to think they aren't at least covering their costs, but still...

A no-brainer. Put it in the cart, and while I was standing at the register, giving my card to the girl, I instantly regretted it.

Is this really what I need? Could've bought wipers for my car, or even an oil and air filter. Or maybe a T-shirt or two, or a hoodie. Or how about a pair of earphones? Any one of those things I needed more than this, or at least had more use for. But I just thought I needed this so much, more than anything else. Impulse over logic.

That said, the razor looks awesome and the gel smells absolutely incredible. Can't wait to get up tomorrow and try it!

That razor looks awesome. I think I've seen similar fancy razors on display at the local grocery store, packaged with a few blades and shaving gel. Should probably get one of those, as my shaving from yesterday with a disposable razor straight up hurt :(

From my end, I've been buying a lot of Lululemon. Last purchase: these pants

Bought a fleece and kind of regret. Could've bought something a lot cheaper from Decathlon. Lately looking for outdoor gear (base layer, fleece and shell jacket) and the most well-known companies like Patagonia, The North Face, Bergans of Norway, Outdoor Research are crazy expensive here.
Their marketing is top notch though

Shaved this morning - it's not aggressive at all, shaves as closely as a disposable razor (I expected a bit closer shave). Still have to see if my skin will get irritated, but it was a pleasant experience. Felt rich haha.

I bought some things from Decathlon, were alright. It's cheap(er) but it also feels that way. For a beginner it's probably alright, mostly the clothing and stuff that's easier to manufacture in general.

Plan on going somewhere hiking/skeeing etc?

I want to spend more time outside this winter. For now I'm planning mostly day hikes to Vitosha mountain (20mins. away by bus). Don't have experienced mountaineers in my social circle (except my best friend but he lives in Germany) so more adventurous hikes in winter conditions are out of question for now. Would like to try skiing one day but the cost for lift passes, accommodation, renting gear, ski lessons is too much.

I'm not usually big on shelling out big money for clothes/designer wear etc.
The exceptions for me are footwear and a decent winter jacket.

Especially the winter jacket! The Berghaus waterproof + fleece combo I bought last year has been putting work in on those icy/raining British early morning work commutes lately 😁

Been on a shopping spree since I got the paycheck. In summary: hoodies, a jacket, boots, hiking pants, hiking long-sleeve Tee, a couple of random Tees, a sweater, a shirt, 2 pairs of jeans, a bracelet...and some classic Vans. Love 'em. They last no more than a year but I always buy them.

This might sound boring, but underwear and socks were like the first clothing-related purchase I made along with a couple of new shoes.

Wardrobe-wise, have you decided what style you want - muscular buff guy, streetwear, preppy, etc.?

Equipping my home office, piece by piece. Bought myself an ergonomic chair and a desk... Which I had to assemble myself. That took 4 hours, and with disassembly of the one I had and cleaning and setting everything up, the total was 8 hours. Very pleased with the result, the dimensions are spot on!
