UK artist and 'Liquid' cofounder 'Eamon Downes' aka 'Ame', has died. R.I.P.

Fellow rave pioneer Billy Daniel Bunter broke the news on X today, July 21st. "It's with heartbreaking sadness that I'm letting the world know we've lost Eamon Downes," the post read. "Devoted husband to Stella, proud dad to Bea and one of my closest friends ever. This one really hurts." Downes formed Liquid with Shane Heneghan, AKA DJ Model, in 1991 after the pair met at Pauls 4 Music record shop on Cambridge Heath Road, East London. Their debut release, an eponymous, four-track EP, proved to be their most iconic—featuring era-defining rave classics "Sweet Harmony" and "Liquid Is Liquid." Both tracks were later re-released on XL Recordings, with "Sweet Harmony" reaching number 14 on the UK Singles charts.

The song samples the piano riff and vocals from the 'House' classic 'CeCe Rogers - Someday' released in 1987.

New remixes of the song were released in 1995, and it was re-released in 1999, 2004 and again in 2007, featuring more new mixes.

in 1999 the German label 'Gang Go Music' took the track and re-released it under the artist name 'Liquid Love' with remixes by 'Blank & Jones', 'Saints & Sinners' and 'Pascal F.E.O.S.'
