Remember liking this track when I discovered your works. That and a couple of others in a similar "spacey" style. Not my thing now.
So your own track is your favorite trance classic worthy of a thread here hm?
Perhaps we should take this one out of his playbook and post our stuff in the appropriate sections. We like them...

Whats with the recent negativity towards me between you and magnevi? Seems like someone else took over your profiles lol.

Don't take it as negativity, I've said my issues with the self-promotion from multiple viewpoints in the other thread - I am in no way hostile, just analytical and this really makes me laugh and cringe a bit. We're (I'm) just (semi-sarcastically) joking around (which gets you more replies, more views haha).

There just seems to be some bitterness creeping into this forum and it aint a good look for a couple of you guys. Espeically guys who are actually mods...if youre gonna start attacking personally and negatively, then dont bother posting at all in a thread. It just makes the forum seem a bit pathetic and childish.

Spin it any way you want that will make you the victim here; I've told you that I'm joking around, and I explained what I think of your self-promotion analytically (also from your point of view). If you can claim your track is a trance classic, be prepared to take a joke or two for it.

Where did 'trance classic' come from? This is for tracks for that specific era...post anything you want! They dont have to be 'classics'...which is down to personal opinion anyway!

In any case, it's "the best of". The era and the "best of" sort of implies that it should be a trance classic. Now, there are far worse tracks in there (and I actually really liked this one), but they are all posted by other people, and I think they should be the judge of whether a track is a classic/best of an era or not. That's my point. As a producer in heart, I know what it feels like to absolutely love all your works. :D

The problem I mostly have with the productionns I've listened to from you are:

1 . The melodies themselves = not convincing/weak/ or underdevolped .I dont say they are bad but they could be better/worked on.

2. The synths/pads = too low in volume and too sparse/underdeveloped/badly eq:ed. They sit way back in the mix and they are too subtle to really get a grip on. Im not saying it shuold be in your face, but they just sit in the background too much for me. You could try and get them a little more defined maybe, or play with more dynamics overall. The overall production is a little quiet and dim-sounding.

3. A contrast between the pads/melodies. The pads and the synth melodies are too similar sounding in tone which also contributes to point 1 and 2 which make it somehow too one-sounding.

Consenus is that you've got the atmosphere/basics of the track down but I feel the melodies/arrangements are underproduced/underdeveloped and especially the points ive made contributes to this.

Dont look into it that much that i posted my own track, its not really a big deal haha. And tbh,out of all the tracks ive made,id only ever post two in this section for this era...this and Back To The Stars.

And as far as self promotion goes...i really have no need to self promote on this forum at all..if i post a track, its not for that reason at all. Its just for opinion on that track. Its not to try and collect a few followers or make some money lol.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! It wouldve been useful in the production forum back then. Tbh i posted this merely to see if anyone liked it or remembered it. It wasnt to get so much negativity in the thread! Believe it or not some of my tracks are in peoples top lists. 😆
