True. Digweed is much better. But Sasha is better than the current average. Give any of the current guys eight hours and they'll be pissed off. It's not just nostalgia. He has good sets.

Imo Markus should have never stopped doing his City Series. It was his signature compilation, a very very good and classic one.

I'll wait to give it a listen, as I do every year, but as mentioned here, this series does not provide anything memorable anymore. A new comp series would be nice by Blackhole. Myon does it greatly.

Imo Markus should have never stopped doing his City Series. It was his signature compilation, a very very good and classic one.

Well it's been 12 years already since he stopped it... It also makes no sense to me why but given the last one (Buenos Aires 13) was already kinda sloppy so maybe he lost passion for it.

Over the years I have tried many-many times to listen to Schultz’s compilations, but the man has an unbeatable talent for creating mixes where nothing stands out and you just want to fall asleep.

After boring everyone from ISOS 14 and ruining ISOS 20 the only thing I was hoping for is for somebody else to take control of the series starting from 21. But alas, instead of removing him they removed the only good thing about ISOS 14-20 i.e mixes that weren’t produced by Markus.

Just when I thought that it couldn’t get any worse….

Seriously the percussion and atmosphere sound weak and aiming at the lowest common denominator and shitty choppy vocals. @Unjungle You like shit like this?

I really liked Solarstone's mix from ISOS20, and I bought the ISOS20 vinyl. But I'll probably skip this year's since nothing interesting seems to be coming out. I had a slight hope that maybe The Thrillseekers would be invited someday.

Well, not angry just disappointed no trance here but that's not the point it's also just boring and generic flat line house tracks which have no groove.

Blackhole will squeeze the ISOS brand till the last drop comes out. Personally I liked the MS era much more than Durand which I associate with the EDM years, e.g. BT, even Lange Mix were horrible.

In comparison to that the MS era gives ISOS something back. 15, 14 and 19 (yes, and partly 20) were really great trance ones. I think you will never see Enigma state or Steele on an ISOS. They‘re just too underground, perhaps 20-25 years ago they would have got their own mix cd on the label, no?

Btw. the new Trancefix Mix from @Jetflag has really a lot of ISOS vibes with a certain handwriting which goes deeper. Well done! I did come back several times already.

I would say at least he tries to match the vibe with the tracks selection but it's very, very watered down, like a lazy, cheap cosplay. There just not much effort in finding some special tracks that would stand out and make it real.

I. e. early in the days, when there was a certain mix compilation in the works, be it an early ISOS one or Markus' city series compilation, they'd announce that they're looking for demos for such specific project to get the sound they would really want to have there.

These days I guess they just keep things as easy and less expensive with licensing as possible, mostly stick to the material that is already licensed by Black Hole. They would rather take effort on a new photo shoot for Markus and catchy Instagram reels to advertise it like it's something special.

Although 14, 15 looks good, I haven't listen to them much up to now, I think I will listen to them in the upcoming week.

My favourite one of cause is 20 CD1 Mixed by Solarstone. From 16 to 19, my favourite one might be very different to people here, it's 17 CD3 Mixed by Kyau & Albert.
