This mix is terrible. It’s miles worse than last year. I tried to give it a shot and listen to it as a full mix, but by the third track, I knew something was off. It all just blends together into one long, boring track. I skipped through the rest, and there’s absolutely nothing interesting there, so I just Shift + Delete it

This was indeed pretty dissapointing. Flat and boring, like mentioned above one extended track. Exactly nóthing is happening during this mix. Curious about the other 2 discs

My main problem is the thirteenth track could might as well just have been the third. There's no progression, it's all just dull, mindless prog.

It's my fault. When adding stuff to the site I somehow messed up and removed the ability for members to edit thread titles, and I have no idea how I did that, or where I would go to fix it. I will look properly into it at some point.

What happened to including trance like this? And they only released it because it's got the name of London Grammar in it nothing more. I think Sasha is fucking overated as a producer and DJ.

I love progressive house and melodic trance and even I disappointed, hell must be freezing over because I completely agree with Daysleeper

To sum up, the first mix is slow, very slow, but compared to his older ISOS mixes not worse. The trance purists here should better not touch it, haha. It lacks of a continous narration, has no edges, no trance energy. - But I think that wasn’t their aim, when I got the descriptions right.

I like the first five tracks without listening too serious... some light and weak slowburning atmosphere in here. Then I don’t know what to think about the mid part. Somehow depressing and not feeling good. The last part with Sasha and London Grammar is okay tbh, but far from being great. In total the mix is just rippling along its way. I still give it 5.5/10 and being even more afraid of mix 2 which will be full of cheese and nonsense vocals, probably. The only mix that still deserves some attention is number 3.

I hope Markus got this one to end up - fair enough - and then finally it‘s time to say goodbye. Anyhow I really really doubt if his whoever-follower will do what we want him to do.

Actually I don't remember so much negativity towards ISOS, since Durand took over after Tiesto selling out, I mean all these Schulz mixed comps were kind of mediocre but they weren't so off and so poor with the tracks selection like this time.

Makes me little curious about whose gonna mix it next year, but definitely not for 2 more Schulz mixes this year

Richard Durand in his ISOS days has a lot in common with George W Bush. During the noughties the entire world had discussed that it is unbelievable that such a person was elected president and that it cannot get any worse. Same thing with Durand and ISOS.

Hindsight has proven people wrong in both cases…

PS I actually like most Durand ISOS mixes, especially 8 and 9.

PPS Still can’t understand why every platform other than Spotify has mixed versions of them

The second mix is an improvement over the first, but it’s just too contemporary for my taste. I can’t help it when I hear ‘In Search of Sunrise,’ I expect something different, not just another generic mix from Anjunadeep’s current residents.

These guys need to go back to the basics of making music. They are just churning out garbage just for a sake of remain relevant or get paid. These tracks are not inspiring at all. The only decent track is the opening track. I absolutely hate the plastic sounding percussion that they use nowadays its such a cheap and lazy effort to use such a templated sound just have a listen to Fulfilment that could have been such a good track.

Well, it's not that it's about looking at the basics where their roots and looking where they could improve or replicate it. I know I have had to do that with piano I have had to start again at Prep school with piano school and that's despite knowing theory up to Grade 3. These guys seem to be getting worse as they age it's not to do with old age it's just that they've lost the spark and their heart is not in it anymore. The whole point of music is to make pleasurable and music that should be enjoyable the stuff they are churning out is clearly not enjoyable nor is it pleasurable.

Most of these tunes would be equivalent of me hearing Debussy's tracks but so badly composed and horrible mastering with random keys to make it sound "trendy" The offkey stabs are annoying, I don't like the trend.

Well I reckon, talking about guys like Schulz, music simply doesn't matter that much to him as it used to, and that's the main difference compared to ~2008. It's just a part of his job/business so whatever gets liked by the crowd in the clubs he's playing at - is fine with him. And he won't bother going against the trends just because "I don't like this or that for Markus Schulz music, it should sound different". He gets money from serving the clubbers, he gives them what they want.

Much better than I expected. The acceleration on this mix is good, the basskicks get strong in the second half. I would put this next to his mix on the 18th installment, which I enjoyed.

But c’mon guys, you seriously expected real trance music? I would call this lightful popmusic, sometimes enjoyable, sometimes danceable, with a little dash of some trancey elements. Just look at the ridiculous 3 minute tracks playtime…things like this speak for themselves.

Just listened to CD1 and it was a pleasant listen. Most of the tracks are already known, but thats fine:

All these tracks are in around 7/10, Rise by Jerome is exceptional 9/10
overally 7/10, its well done, but yeah...rather anticlimatic, the mix ends with more chilled tracks rather than more trancey or faster ones

CD2 is not as good, its more bigroom-ish towards the end.

these were the best tracks, standout track is Fulfillment, but thats old the last track by Markus is quite uplifting but the melody was strange, almost off, so I didnt liked it
