I think "Milky Way" is much more Airwave sounding track than directly from himself. What do you guys think?

Messier 31 has some nice elements to it. That would be my pick. The main lead in the break would have been nice to carry through though, gets a little repeatative. Same with milky way, the lack of change when the lead kicks in just lost me a bit.

Pretty boring tbh.

sounds like a 2.min build extended to 7 min. Where's the actual music? Wheres the ideas?

So so it does sound good like the bassline but there needs to be a journey in the track.

653 releases... the admin alone must be phenomenal. I hope whoever runs Old Squirrel gets something out of it. I'm sceptical that the scattergun approach works but, hey, I don't run a label.

Similar situation with Mystique, every couple of years I remember they exist and go to check them out and there's like 200 releases to wade through... who's got the time for that.

Love all three. You have to keep in mind that these are trancy progressive house tracks, IMO. They have great sounds and riffs, but ultimately they rely more on repetition and groove than melodies. Only Milky Way is prog trance (and there the criticism is somewhat valid).

To sum it up: Brilliant tracks. I think M31 is my favourite.

Pretty much agree with this. Quite monotone tracks and not much happening in them. Messier is my fav as well...

These do fall into that category of modern prog which has a tendency to neither commit to a really edgy, groovin, perc focused track that gets you moving hard or to a track filled with loads of personality and memorability, with some strong identity. In the end they do small bits of both and it feels a bit like nothing either way.

Having said that I did find myself playing these ones multiple times and I felt way less bored and flat with most of the prog I hear in this style. I was moving in my chair. The baselines in Escape and Milkyway were great actually, those two are my favourite. If i'm in the mood for this style of prog then I think these are pretty good actually. Still lacking a proper musical journey to really elevate it though, theres no emotional tension.
