My all time favourite Mat Zo release, both are magnificent. 2009 may have been his best year. If I had to choose between the two it would (just) go to Lucky Strike. What would you choose?

Lucky Strike

Synapse Dynamics

Ah yes, Mat Zo used to make some pretty fantastic, melodic and almost chaotic tracks. My favourite Mat Zo track has to be his original Rush, but from these two I'll give it to Lucky Strike.

Very hard to choose as honestly I love them both, depending on the mood. Lucky Strike just takes it

Lucky Strike is just such a unique track. He had a knack for making tracks with both emotive melodies and interesting grooves.

Synapse Dynamics is a smoother, more introspective track. Whilst not as exciting / outstanding as the former, it's still a solid track and would stand out if played amongst modern progressive sets.

Lucky Strike a clear winner for me. Love the melodies there, and that cold and lifeless (start of the) "climax" really contrasts the warmth and a touch of euphoria from the melodies. 9/10 times I would've taken it as a bad thing, but here I enjoy it, really makes the track. And later on it really comes to life.

Pretty sweet track by Mat Zo.

Back in the days it was much compared to Ferry's "Beautiful", and yeah, the way the melody 'falls' is similar. But I find it different enough.
