The remixes from a few years ago were poor

not a surprise ) the whole edm scene after 2010 is very disappointing. i mean you can find some good stuff from time to time but in general it's not worth the time spent on searching. you can just turn on some pre 300 asot and get 2,3,5,7 "masterpieces" in one mix to which most of the modern productions don't come even close.
