Surprised no one posted this and I found this a few years ago. @Halon @Hensmon another person you can interview.

This is it. Thank you, for everything! This is for those that couldn't make it to the show, or want to listen back to remember. x Recorded May 21st 2022 at Beachclub Fuel, Bloemendaal aan Zee. Original retirement announcement from 2019: My dear fan or friend, With humble gratitude and respect I'm hereby announcing that on September 12th 2020 I will be performing the last set of my DJ career at Menno Solo - The Finale. The past 20 years have brought countless memorable moments, allowed me to see many of the world's most beautiful places, and brought amazing people in to my life.. But throughout that era I have grown older and changed significantly as a person, developing a pressing sense of urgency to make decisions about how I spend the remaining time in my life. Whereas the thought of touring as a DJ was initially infinitely enticing, over time it has become clear to me that it is also an enormously taxing lifestyle that leaves limited room for personal growth, health and time with family and friends. Moreover, I'm finding it increasingly hard to consolidate my environmental and animal rights beliefs with a profession that involves constantly jetting from one part of the world to another. These topics are something that have always been very close to my heart. Up until my last show I will be doing my very best to visit all the places I have performed at in the past one last time, so that we can have a proper goodbye, celebrate with the amazing music of the past two decades, and so that I can personally thank you for all your support - I couldn't have done it without you and it's been such a great ride.. Hoping for your understanding, with much love, Menno

He quit multiple times… a bit weird.

Menno was once a big name with Intuition. But that’s over a decade ago. Even his little “””recent””” hit, Turtle Paradise, is more than a decade old.

His sets are nice with a large portion of classics in them. Too bad those will not be played out anymore (as often), but the truth is: Menno hardly was a name anymore in the trance scene.

I take it this is just a retirement from DJing and not producing? I saw Active do the same thing very recently....i dont understand it tbh. Surely one of the main reasons we produce is the opportunity to play our music to crowds of people live??

Menno retired from DJing and producting. His last track was with Kristina Sky
But his last ever set was fun, but not really emotional for me

I really like Menno Productions from way back. Could producers just make tracks for fun every now and then? Instead of through goals of career. I like to paint sometimes when in the mood, but would never go back to freelance artist life as a job.

Menno De Jong did some fantastic stuff early, but just as 99% of trance producers he started to suck around 2007-2008. Since then he tried to sound oldschool without sounding oldschool, his tracks sounded laughably bad. Seems like he had no clue what direction he wanted to go with his music.
