If there's one vocal track I always come back to it's By Your Side by Miro - I know there are more bangin' remixes out there, but to me it's all about the incredible atmosphere of the original track. The vocals fits it 100% and I pretty much listen to it each week - one of my all time favourite vocal tracks.

Hooj 84 was going to be Miro - By Your Side. It never made it though because of the Hooj abandonment of the trance sound. The Track however was re-scheduled to appear on the sister label Lost Language.

Mads Arp from Miro kindly provided the following information on the promos to the track.....

It was promoted with 300 copies in autumn 1999 under the name MO - "My Your Side". Tracklisting was A) Original vox & B) side Original Instrumental. The B) side was the version used on Seb Fontaine's Prototype 2 and made Oakenfolds home chart.

In Summer 2000 it also promoed with a one sided mix called the DVK remix (Probably only 100 copies) This release probably was going to be on Hooj 84 however it never made it.

Nice i have never heard the original, but own both Van Bellen and Ronski speed remixes. Think Original is now my favourite.

Yeah, the Original Vox is pretty much impossible to find on vinyl - on Discogs it costs like 165 euros

Loving both the original and the Van Bellen mix. Great vocal stuff.

And fuck the banging mixes - the original has an insane energy to it! Can't describe it, but it just lifts me up, even though it's not fast or banging.

First heard this when Paul Oakenfold played it on his creamfields essential mix in 1999 and loved it immediately.

Was gutted when they said it wasn't being released, but thankfully it did get a release in 2002. Still some people have managed to get their hands on the original white label from 1999 and videos can be found on YouTube.

Since then there have been tons of remixes but the original is still my favourite. It's flawless in a way and no remix can improve on it.

Starts at 13:50.

I find the Sonorous remix more atmospheric than the original,

So happy you shared this as I had forgotten about it and never owned it. I remember looking for this version years ago after hearing it on a radio show somewhere. This, Original and Van Bellen are out of this world.

I find the Sonorous remix more atmospheric than the original, although this was the first version I heard so maybe I'm biased.

Yeah, lovely early 00s prog trance. Original still beats it but I won't even pick between the three, I'll listen to all of them, but on different days, depending on the mood.

This thread has reminded me how much I love this track. The original has to be in my top 10. What a great vocal, what a great atmosphere. The vocalist is Julie Harrington, well known in the trance world.

Sonorous has blown me away, might even be better than my previous favorite, the VB remix

Big fan of the original and the Ovnimoon remix. Also quite fond of the Ian Wilkie Dub (Lost Language 11R) which is more on the breaks end of the spectrum:

That seems like a great problem to have, tbh. :p

YES, VERY!

I do realize that I'm in effect bumping this again. But to be fair, have you really lived life if you haven't listened to the original multiple times in a row? I don't think so.
