Some of the outright war crimes that Tiesto has been releasing under the guise of it being 'music' over the past 10 years are on 250+ million views already :cautious:
For real. I don't know if you've seen my thread about trance classics not on Spotify, but to make that list I revisited some Tiesto classics and just kind of sighed at the person/DJ he's become. Dude's nearly 50 years old but married a 23 y/o whom he met when she was 19. Never mind the actual music bs he's been releasing after Elements of Life. EDIT: he's 53 now, but he was nearly 50 when he set his sights on a 19 y/o model. That's sleazy in most societies.

Well I think many single men with age 48 would settle for a 19 year old model. At least for a night, or too.

Armin isn’t much better though, music-wise. At least Tiesto told everyone in 2009: I quit trance, expect a new tiesto.

Armin tries to be active on many different markets, but shouldn’t imo.

Some more for the list. Units: millions of views.

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400: 56.1. Link
Infected Mushroom - Becoming Insane: 26.3. Link
ATB - 9 PM (Till I Come), original: 24.9. Link
Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix): 24.6, from Tiesto in Concert. Link
Above & Beyond - Sun & Moon: 22.5. Link. Not exactly a classic, but it is from more than 10 years ago so it kinda fits?
Underworld - Born Slippy.NUXX: 22.2. Link
Three Drives - Greece 2000: 19. Link
Orbital - Halcyon On and On: 18.6. Link
Infected Mushroom - Psycho: 17.3. Link
Jam & Spoon - Right in the Night: 15.5. Link
B.B.E. - Seven Days and One Week: 11.8. Link
Nalin & Kane - Beachball (Extended Vocal): 11.6. Link
Armin van Buuren vs. Rank 1 - This World is Watching Me: 10.2. Link. huh, I've never heard of this track before.

As an aside, Binary Finary - 2000 (Jam X & Dumonde remix) has 17.6 million additional views per the mislabeled DJ Tiesto - Trance Energy Exstacy.
Shame for the Kernkraft 400 audio, it actually made me check if my headphones are fucked. I remember my best friends who disliked trance was listening it all the time along D-Devils, Westbam. I think he secretly liked the stuff labelled as techno and/or rave.

D-DEVILS - 6TH GATE (DANCE WITH THE DEVIL) about 11mln from10 videos

Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumping 11mln

Da Hool - meet her at the Loveparade 44.5mln

Members of Mayday - Sonic Empire 25.5mln

I am not surprised at as this were popular even amongst people who said they hate trance or rave

Oh btw did some 90s Scooter songs count as hard trance they are way in the mlns. The dudes had great marketing and H P Baxter is still my favourite MC. Up until around 2009, but it's hard not get stale from 20+ years

Another band my friend loved listening

Scooter - The Logical Song 83mln
Scooter - How Much Is The Fish? 75mln

LOL their most famous jumpstyle songs are round 40 mln views each, happy hardcore ones around 20 mln

I think most trance artist never bothered to market themselves properly thus Armin and Tiesto are the most well known since they had massive teams behind them. Above and Beyond too, but they kind of missed the early 2000s trance craze, but almost made up for it in the 2002-2005 period.

Havnt seen that, but its still a rip!
Actually, yeah, you're right. The last minutes or so is a different track. Link.
Hmmm if I had to make an exception for just 1 track, it would be for the Binary Finary Dumonde remix. It just doesn't feel right to exclude a song that accumulated 17 million views, and not just in a single video but in two separate videos

And that's perfectly understandable.

Side note: I'm surprised at how "unpopular" trance is in today's age. Tracks that were commercially successful three decades ago, that paved the way to the genre barely have 1-2 million views today and don't reach 10 million views. No Hallucinogen or Astral Projection tracks have more than 10 million views.

Trance was super irrelevant in the last 15 years, I'm here with you 2 years on the forum and I still have no clue what were the BIG smashing Trance tunes of the last decade.. also the modern uplifting guys have absolutely no clue what about is todays club music.. really strange.. 'Kettenkarussell - Maybe' released in 2018 has 18M views, it was a just vinyl release and it became a true hit, the Trance producers need to make again non cheesy HITS, something for the cool kids and the same for the old heads..

Honestly, I just want to see more variety. There is some happening right now with the '90s trance revival, which is fine, but I also want to see:
Koan Sound, neurofunk-inspired trance. Basically, trance with sound design that is usually associated with drum & bass.
Experimental/hip-hop/r&b beats inspired trance.
Just something that isn't generic uplifting.
