I actually love the vocals. I don't find them cheesy either. Very sexy and haunting at the same time. Sweeping Strings Mix for me. Superb track.
That I agree with. There's nothing cheesy about them. They do feel "sexy" and haunting - that is evident from the original version, which carried over to the Sweeping Strings mix.

I was never too keen about these vocals. The G&D remix imo is pretty overplayed, and there are an unnecessarily large number of remixes done which are quite similar to one another.

If i had to pick a favourite it would have to be the A&B mix, ironically it's the version i've listened to the least. It doesn't rely too heavily on the vocals, and the underlying melody and rolling bassline i really dig.

The vocals actually defines this track if you ask me.

If vocals are true to the essence of trance - no, not really. Just speaking about music in general.

Side note II: The Metronome & Morten Granau Remix has over 38 million views. I don't ever remember hearing this track, so im not sure if it's relatively new or old or what. But the G&D remix has only 1.5M views, which i find strange. Anyway, enjoy!
I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more. Something shady is definitely happening there. Beat Lounge (Youtube channel where it was uploaded) isn't that big, but its two most-viewed videos are ATC - Ecstasy (Morten Granau remix) (117M views) and Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes (Metronome & Morten Granau Remix) (38M views). The next most-viewed video, ATB - My Everything (Ghost Rider remix) has only 284k views. That's several orders of magnitude of difference... something fishy is going on there.

Correction: I like one vocal version, but it's a mashup, called Nick Sentience vs. Motorcycle - As The Rush Electrifies (Impossible ReMashup)

I like it despite the vocals, not because of them. They don't ruin Electrify too much.

this is boring apparently lol

Armin => Vocals
Perry o'neil instrumentals -> instrumental are kick ass very hypnotic and those vocals really fit in the Armin remix with those reverbs and delays

I still like this track, i don't play it much but when it comes on i'm reminded by how good it is. I like the Sweeping Strings, A&B en AvB mixes the most and the Perry O'Neil only in the Dub version. The Markus mix is just awful.

I really love this track, and many of the remixes. G&D is where I have the most nostalgic response as that’s what I heard and listened to when I first got into Trance. I couldn’t speak English when I heard the track so would use lyric sites to help translate. I always loved ‘we drift deeper into the sound, and life goes on’ part because at this age of 16 it’s exactly how I felt when listening to Trance and staring out the window on my ride to school. No one in Singapore was listening or caring about this music but I really didn’t care, as I felt like I had the secret, or at least understood what they didn’t. It was empowering, to say the least. This track and Silence were gateways into European dance music and the obsession I had after.

Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Perry O'Neil Instrumental) For me, this is the best track in the history of trance.

Original sweeping strings was good at first few listens, but then it got overplayed in sets and radio to the point it become dull to me.

Ha, it's funny you mention Live Another Life. That's the one and only track that comes to mind when vocals were added to a trance track that i thought were truly awful and didn't fit the instrumental one bit!
Are you Daysleeper's long lost half brother? I don't consider Andain - Beautiful things as "Trance" it's a good pop/vocal record.
