hello all. this is my first post. In my free time I compile DJ sets. I currently only play in radios. in my obsidian i had copied over the definition of "left-field house" from rym at some point. I stumbled on it a few days back and re-read it. in it, it said "... It can come from house’s back door, through post-disco R&B and Italo disco influences, like Metro Area -- a duo who regularly bypasses the relentless 4/4 thump completely..."
This mention intrigued me and my searches lead me to Metro Area 5 & 6. I felt like the monkey in the walkman commercial. I really like hip-hop and genres that I consider to be adjacent to hiphop, trip-hop in particular, so I had a predisposition towards songs that I considered unconventional or unique. The metro area duo provided this greatly. So I was wondering if there were similar labels or groups to them. I would be greatly happy by any answer. have a good day/night.
