Hey guys, want to share my new project that i've been working on for the last year, Raters Gonna Rate.
This is a ratings and review platform for creative content e.g movies, games, shows, manga etc. I've always loved reviewing/rating creative content, so last year decided I would formalize it into a blog like site. But actually I wanted to go further than just a typical blog. The review landscape today is just awful, with so many paid puff pieces, clickbait and over-hyping of content. The user experience is also atrocious, with tons of suffocating adverts and generic articles. Creative review spaces should be design forward imo, and also have integrity with the content, so that's what I set out to build. Thanks to advances in design software, I could build this entire thing by hand with no code knowledge.
Here is the site. I have long form feature reviews, but also an 'All rates' section where I document all ratings in a table like form - www.ratersgonnarate.com
I'm sharing it here because I know some will enjoy, but mostly I'm gonna use this thread as a dev log, because I have so much more I am adding to the site, including a music section (which will have top 100s and the likes) and I want to tack it and get eyes on it. Feedback at any time is appreciated. My ultimate goal is to build a platform that allows any user to create their own rating/reviews for public sharing. Like a massive rating/review ecosystem.
p.s there is likely many bugs/spelling mistakes, so if you catch em, let me know
