weird one.. overall it's too bad that trance scene couldn't make such a talented artist interested in being a bigger and more active part of it than this outcast shelter label by Breakfast

Or maybe the problem isn’t the artist avoiding the big leagues—maybe the big labels just won’t sign him because that sound isn’t what’s hot right now. At least on Breakfast, he can drop whatever he wants. He definitely has a recognizable signature style. Maybe he just doesn’t want to change and start making those typical Melodic Techno trance shitty two-minute extended tracks for TikTok and Spotify.

let's not exaggerate like that cmon

Naden's best tracks were released under Enhanced Progressive which is by all means a fairly mainstream label. The thing they have, that Breakfast labels doesn't, is good quality control, no mattter you like their releases or not. Releasing whatever you want without quality control from outside is not working too well for everyone, Naden is just a perfect example of how he's now seriously lacking some effort and direction with his productions.

No ones buying music from Enhanced, no ones buying music from EDM recordings. There's no money anywhere in this scene, so I imagine he's just releasing on a label he likes directionally and has a good relationship with. EDM recordings is way more interesting than Enhanced anyway, and something I would pay more attention too. These guys make music because its a passion right, not because they are trying to get bigger.

My self released tracks has been played about 3 million times on spotify and youtube and that has amounted to around 10 000$ roughly, and the money from anjuna, armada and enhanced has been so vanishlignly small that its not even comparable probably around 100 dollars. The label does not matter any more. Algorithms will try to boost songs often surprisingly much without regard for labels.

Ive always made whatever I wanted to for the last 20 years. Regardless of the reception. I have total and utter tunnel vision for my own process and dont really think much about it. My Enhanced releases was just coincidence that those ended up there. I just happened to randomly send demos there. I also dont care about fame or money, and also never been to a trance concert, nor do I like loud sounds, I prefer quietness, its unfortunate to those that want me to go that way but I have like 5 hobbies on similar level as music, so I have limited time. I make games, do bird watching, paint, spend excessive amount of time studying macro economics for fun. My day job pays well ( programming in the oil sector in Norway ) So music is something sacred and pure, isolated from influence, just for me. And also maybe abit for those that follow me when I eventually put stuff out.

You guys are really just along for my private journey on one of my many hobbies. Ive seen and known countless of guys doing it to serve their audience and fame and the pattern is that they quit, instead of doing it purely for their own enjoyment.

I dont know why i thought of this rambling here, as I said I usually just focus intensly on my own work, may the ones that this interest find this post.

Hey man! Very interesting read, and totally respectful approach! And nice to see you around here!

Big fan here of your style for more than a decade (I think Fountain EP was the first one I found of yours)!

I consider many of your releases as electronic classics, winning the test of time, sound perfect all these years later, which is fantastic and rare achievement.

All your Saturate Audio releases are top notch (Myr might be my favorite), Huldra/Singularity, Midnight Dancers, Cellar Door etc. All brilliant tracks, Ikeep using them in my playlists, bringing me some nostalgia as well hehe.

Thanks! I think The thing is, songs only become classics after many years and many listenings. Its basically nostalgia and take you back to a mindset you had at that time. And the tracks really is just a reflection of what I like to listen to at that particular time in my life.

One insane part of making music is that those feelings and memories of the time when those tracks were created, is insanely strong when you make the tracks yourself. You cement a vibe and feeling of a particular time in your life. That you can jump back to and feel very vividly. I get that feeling from other peoples tracks but from my own its 10x a stronger feeling. I wish more people had this experience because its like time travelling, and one of the reasons I do it to be able to jump back in time to more strongly feel the vibe of those years.

True! And that's why we see so many legendary producers losing their magic "touch" after their peak time period of their life has passed. It's a combination of what you described based on a particular time of producers/dj/team life. Impossible to keep producing the same successful type/style as you age. Other producers just made 1 hit and disappeared. So yeah, I totally agree with that.
