even though the vinyl has been out since March, I feel like now is the perfect time to post this release

Berlin duo Opal Sunn return with Liquid, a three-phase study in gradual, cascading trance-through-house, privileging slow sonic 'clines over bait drops. Contemporaries Alex Kassian and Hiroaki Oba are the ones behind this otherwise retro-tinged project: 'Liquid - Phase I' unfolds over seven minutes of architectural patience, rippling arpeggios and a low-slung kick, while 'Phase II' is a tighter forking-off, and 'Phase III' introduces similar introspective glide. Opal Sunn's recognisable marrying of Balearic colour and disciplined sequencing is made regular here.
