Just disovered this repressed classic. Too bad it's available on vinyl only.

Original Mix - Sorry, can't find full track preview everywhere. The '94 release is also not listed on discogs.

The Grid Mix - This one is more prog housey

There's also other repressed classics from them, if you dig these sounds I recommend you to check it. They are just as good!

Original 'Orson' is tasty.)

The label info only says that: "A2 original released in 1992, Opik - Feel Yourself", so maybe the other tracks were unreleased or new (?)

EDIT: The Grid remix was only a promo, not a release

Blimey, Ive never known anyone who knew about Opik. Had a recording ( cassette) of the compilation ’feed your head 2 ‘ in the 90s. This track is one that was very special and i played it often to just completely Float away ….

God the 90s were something else weren’t they for electronic music? Great place and time to be a teenager, i loved it

Opik - ‘Traveling Without Moving. ‘

What i loved about this kinda thing from the 90’s is that there was no huge structure. It wasn’t necasary because a new sound coming in was all the change that was needed. It was different enough to extend the feeling of the track but with a little dimension added ensuring the listener still keeps floating, but a little higher with each layer added. The most pleasurable journey is where the bliss is un interrupted.
Any chances this kind of wonderous music can make a comeback?
id say the purity of it reflects the times. So I believe now although something fluid and flowing is made or could be made it will feel different because the world is different now.

Nice words Bobby. Never really thought about it like that, the advent of new sounds being enoug, not having to work with or deliver on a preset idea of structures (which didnt really exist anyway). The opposite is true now, where I feel like the freedom got lost and everyone templates out the patterns weve beeing using for decades.

I think it will. Music never stays the same, but also the options of expression are not limitless, so I think eventually they will return in some form. I hope so anyway.

Cool man.
Yeah, I think its why I struggle with arranging a bit. In the 90’s this was the music i mostly listened too. It was all about the sounds and melody and fx.
It was like when a new sound comes in you get this far out feeling in your mind and a huge warmth in your heart. Thats a nice combo! 😊. I used to listen to lots of groups that created blissful atmospheres. Future Sound of London, F.U.S.E ( Dimension Intrusion) when Ritchie Hawtin made sonic simplicity and pure feeling and atmospheres. LFO… ( heavy but magical) System 7… Electric Guitar on a Acid line a 909 drum machine and countless layered synths!!! Steve Hillage the legend! Reload - A collection of short stories ( awesome project by the two from Global Communications.
Sun Electric ( check out Sarotti on Sun electric kitchen, i did a thread last night on here- Sarotti is 100% Mind blowing depth and emotion) R&S records were/are the dogs bollox. I attended a talk with Renaat Vandepapeliere the other day. Inspiring as hes so passionate but also angry as the scene is full of rubbish lazy uninspired music. Hes waiting for someone to come a long and say Fuck It! and do something different with passion imbedded. ( so i wrote Fuck It in the chatroom accompanying the talk) Man he is a legend and passionate. Pure inspiration.

Sometimes YouTube suggestions take me to surprising places. Even better than Spotify 😄

This album is also worth to check. First track is on the same vein as Orson.
Seriously underrated artist.
