These are actually two seperate releases, but just sharing for sake of sharing/discussion really.

I want some of this execution of atmospheres, bassline and synths to return to the mainstream Trance labels and productions. I wouldn't say I am even massively in love with these tracks (although I do like them), but it has at parts a certain feeling that was part of the foundation of some lost forms of Trance music and I feel its often closer to what has been missing than almost everything the Trance scene puts out.

@erickUO you might enjoy one of these

Pause is such a fun, relaxed track. Just great! The energy in Elektrisk is also insane.

Most of my favourite modern trance tracks are half techno, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case

Yep I hear you. I would say a lot of those tracks in the Trancy Techno thread are still Techno in essence though, just using some familiar Trance noises/breakdowns. I find this Pause track, the Bliss Inc stuff and maybe also that Aquarian Tears EP are actually Trance tracks with bits of Techno/House influence still residing fro within. Its like they are 75% there to becoming full blown Trance tracks, but still their home (labels/fan-base) is all in the house/techno worlds. Promising signs for sure

For me whats missing in trance is many things.

First its the mastering. Its mostly so off in todays music that its just not listenable to my ears. Its like all the sounds are mashed together, there is no air, no seperation of sounds and it just sounds awful. Even if they manage to make a decent melody it just doest sound good because of that.

Also the synth used to be the main element in trance. The whole song was built around it, Now its just a background sound or an element in the takeoff.

The trance is dead train has officially arrived for me. Never before have i saved so little trance songs in a year as this year. It must be max 10 songs, and most of them i very much doubt i will be listening to in some years.

Thanks! Been following these guys because of Elektrisk, but that Pause (Beach Mix) was fantastic! Didn't notice it before.
It's nice to hear the playfulness from these and the other "90's style" artists.

I know what you mean @Bluemoon, things have seemed a little quiet this year in terms of stand-out full blown Trance music, and I still find myself going through waves of frustration with the modern scene after hanging out in the classics section for too long, ha. But I am also seeing very positive signs too, and not just in Trance.

I think maybe is was erickUO who mentioned that in other genres like Drum and Bass, House, Techno etc there is much music coming out which captures something that has felt missing for so long, whether that's in the mastering/sound-design or just the ideas and essence (like the 'playfulness' of this Pause track; a sentiment lost from modern Trance really)... It feels like maybe a shift is happening and some of that magic is returning, albeit slowly. You could argue that Anjunabeats has been showing improvements, as a quick example of that potential shift.

If you find it interesting I would recommend checking out my friend Mikkel Rev

Funny enough it was my discovery of Mikkel Rev from the Blue Hour x UTE samples, shared by another user in this forum, that then led me onto to discovering your track. Mikkel has some amazing Trance style releases too. Are you guys influenced by Trance of old, or is it just synth, atmospheric, dreamy stuff that interests you generally and some tracks just happen to feel 'Trancey'?

Ahh haha cool! We're influenced by oldschool trance for sure, absolutely in love with the early 90s trance and hard-trance sound. But we are grown up with "modern" trance as young, and have been into house/techno/trance in our older days.
Here's a lil interview we did, talking a bit about that in it.
