Paul Oakenfold teams up with one of Northern Ireland's hottest trance stars, Sneijder, to create this banging new version of what is arguably one of the biggest records ever released on Perfecto – Bullet In The Gun. Originally released on Perfecto 26 years ago in 2000 this was a "Courtyard Classic" from the golden era of Paul Oakenfold's legendary Cream residency at Nation in Liverpool. Bringing it right up to date with punch and power this new manifestation is one for the peak time hours and having already been a firm favourite with Hannah Laing who played it continuously in her sets through 2025 – we anticipate this one to be lighting up dancefloors all through the forthcoming summer and beyond.

I’m not even gonna hit play. I like the original version even though it’s defo on the cheddar side, but many fond memories of Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Passion back in the day. But…: it’s ripe for being ruined because of that cheesy element, which has no doubt happened here.
That’s most trance these days though isn’t it?
Option 1: buy midi packs, buy sample packs, buy the VSTs that the makers of the sample/midi packs say you NEED. SOUND LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Then squash the shit out of it and make sure it’s got all the LUFS, certainly more LUFS than anyone else.
Option 2; ok option 1 not getting traction, no original ideas without the sample/midi packs, so r@pe a classic.

Ouch that is awful. Full disclosure though I never liked the original. Breakdown was just deafening and then when it kicked back in I was just like "trance producers really be doing all of that shit in the break just to drop into the same unsatisfying piss weak kick and bass that everyone has already done a million times already". Newer fans will hear this and think they're hip to the classics

This isn't even that. It's the vocals thrown over another track that doesn't sound anything like Bullet in The Gun. I'm sure Sneiijder reads the forums and I'm sure that the track has been supported by a lot of big DJs. Fair play. It's not for me.

You forgot option 3 - Combine option 1 and 2 like trying to fit a square in a circle and jamming in there to make it beyond likeable and it's not recognizable.

Wow. A lot of hate for this one 😅 tbh I made this as a dj set tool and was just offered an official release. Bit of a full circle moment for me, I went to a festival called Homelands in Ireland in 1999 to see Underworld specifically, not knowing anything about Trance and stumbled across Paul Oakenfold, he played this and I fell in love with it, it literally started my journey in trance, so the track has a massive meaning to me

it’s a marmite type track, you’ll love the original or hate it, I love it. I disagree with a lot of the comments here to an extent, as I could have just dropped the stems in and revamped it, but I have written a complete new melody and made it more in context with my sound.

so to say it’s lazy isn’t true, I only used the vocals, it’s essentially a new tune, and there’s no one on here given the chance to collab and release with one of there idols wouldn’t take it, behave 😅

I love the track, but it’s all subjective 🤝

Not hate dude just some feedback. There is a huge difference and I am being upfront we want you to be successful and have hit after hit. Hate would be something what Armin and EDM buddies are doing to trance or have done to Trance. This is far from that.

In fact I made a topic about it

Ye fair buddy, maybe negativity a better word

and as I said before, I have my sound, the sound I like and enjoy while DJing, so this collab is in context, but I don’t take theses things that personally, yes I want people to like my music, but I have to enjoy it first and foremost, I love this track and stand by it

Don’t mistake feedback on this forum for actual market research. The negativity is huge here lately.

I respect that you've attempted to make something new out of the track and congrats for getting the collab with the legend that is Oakenfold. I'm seeing him live in Brighton in May 😆

I get the vibe your productions are generally designed for large arenas where (and take no offense) the obnoxious, mid-driven kicks tend to work better. Personally, it's not my style, I prefer the softer, old school sounds - as per my productions. However, all I will say is that these new school productions tend to become incoherent on smaller club systems as the kick overpowers everything. All those nice melodies get squashed into a hissy mess.

Feedback can be pretty brutal on here; I've had a couple of blunt reviews :ROFLMAO:
