I respect that you've attempted to make something new out of the track and congrats for getting the collab with the legend that is Oakenfold. I'm seeing him live in Brighton in May 😆

I get the vibe your productions are generally designed for large arenas where (and take no offense) the obnoxious, mid-driven kicks tend to work better. Personally, it's not my style, I prefer the softer, old school sounds - as per my productions. However, all I will say is that these new school productions tend to become incoherent on smaller club systems as the kick overpowers everything. All those nice melodies get squashed into a hissy mess.

Feedback can be pretty brutal on here; I've had a couple of blunt reviews :ROFLMAO:
I make music for my dj sets, I started to produce as a means to get gigs as that’s how the scene went, so dj first and producer second, so yes you are right

so the softer style kicks etc don’t cut it with my sound, fine for listening at home but has no power in the club, in my sets anyway

the feedback on here is mostly decent for my music tbf, but negative comments won’t make me change what I do, I’ve played this track nearly every set for a year and it goes off everytime, so that’s the only indication I need.

Absolutely, it's all about your audience and taste as a DJ. In the end, if people are dancing to it - that's all that matters. I think a few of these trance heads forget that this stuff is designed to be played on huge systems that respond better to thicker kicks.

Although, you would be surprised that the softer sounds do work well in clubs. I was at a trance event at fabric last year and all the old school, vinyl sets (Scot Project and TranceWax) sounded way better on that system - and a lot of these tracks were nearly 30 years old. In the end, it's all about how well you balance and mix your track - that's timeless.

I massively respect your work though - you've created some beautiful tracks :)

Maybe they do, but not in my dj sets, the softer tracks always sound out of place in with the music I play, it’s just my style, I was a hardcore dj for 10 years, so I guess aggressive sounds is my calling

All the Classic themed Trance nights I went to as a lad in 2007-2012 had so much power and energy, so I don't get your comment. I don't think anyone was questioning if the music had too little powers in the 90s and early 2000's...?
Fine if you play sets and music from that era, It’s 2026, I meant no power in the club when mixed in with modern music

Haha hardcore? Did you produce hardcore back then (or try)? Would be interesting to hear if you did.
I wasn’t interested in production then, I only started producing as a means of progressing as a dj, I was into Trance by that time

I did make this though -
not sure what it is, tech trance maybe ? 😅

Wow. A lot of hate for this one 😅 tbh I made this as a dj set tool and was just offered an official release. Bit of a full circle moment for me, I went to a festival called Homelands in Ireland in 1999 to see Underworld specifically, not knowing anything about Trance and stumbled across Paul Oakenfold, he played this and I fell in love with it, it literally started my journey in trance, so the track has a massive meaning to me

it’s a marmite type track, you’ll love the original or hate it, I love it. I disagree with a lot of the comments here to an extent, as I could have just dropped the stems in and revamped it, but I have written a complete new melody and made it more in context with my sound.

so to say it’s lazy isn’t true, I only used the vocals, it’s essentially a new tune, and there’s no one on here given the chance to collab and release with one of there idols wouldn’t take it, behave 😅

I love the track, but it’s all subjective 🤝
The original has a lot of memories for me from Gatecrasher in the summer of 1999. PVD made an edit for Gatecrasher (I believe) without the vocal and included it in his 1999 Muzik Magazine mix - here

Already pre-ordered the track, great work as always! Hope you can come to Hanoi one day

Because when the loudness wars started happening in 2010 they all jumped head first into it and have now dug themselves into hole they can't get out of, because if producer dares turn things back down to appropriate levels it separates itself too much from what has become a scene that sits in isolation not just from all dance music, but Trance in general. All these producers in this scene are now stuck because of it, destined to decades making a sound that grew tiresome already by 2012.

People can be harsh on here like. I've faced it myself with my last release. I mean actual feedback is feedback and that's fair enough. So I would take some remarks with a pinch of salt. You've probably forgot more than some people giving 'feedback' know.

I personally think it's a good remix and brings it up to date. I mean yeah the original is never gonna be beat but what would be the point in remixes at all if people didn't do them. So yeah I wouldn't lose any sleep over bad reviews, they are always gonna happen. You can't please everyone :).
