Because when the loudness wars started happening in 2010 they all jumped head first into it and have now dug themselves into hole they can't get out of, because if producer dares turn things back down to appropriate levels it separates itself too much from what has become a scene that sits in isolation not just from all dance music, but Trance in general. All these producers in this scene are now stuck because of it, destined to decades making a sound that grew tiresome already by 2012.
that's actually very true, it also explains why a lot of stuff sounds the same - to get to these extreme loudness marks around - 4LuFS while still sounding somewhat listenable (to an extent), the mixdown should be meeting some strict criterias that eventually limit the producer quite hard at what sounds could be used, what processing should be applied etc. if you pick a good proper trancer, no matter modern or old school and push the loudness to these levels they won't sound good. apparently we should take drugs to be able to enjoy this slop as some morons here suggest. Imagine making music while the loudness of your kick drum dictates you what you can do and what not 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't see what drugs has to do with it. In the past, and even occasionally today, I can understand the appeal of club forward music, and I've never touched drugs. I just think it's a pity producers today think that club and home experience require different things.

I had an inkling you knew nothing about production theory, and this non sense confirms it

He keeps mentioning drugs in every post, I think it’s him that’s is on them or in need of them, you decide

People can be harsh on here like. I've faced it myself with my last release. I mean actual feedback is feedback and that's fair enough. So I would take some remarks with a pinch of salt. You've probably forgot more than some people giving 'feedback' know.

I personally think it's a good remix and brings it up to date. I mean yeah the original is never gonna be beat but what would be the point in remixes at all if people didn't do them. So yeah I wouldn't lose any sleep over bad reviews, they are always gonna happen. You can't please everyone :).
I always pride myself on making a remix my own, not just adding a new kick, listen to all my remixes, that’s how I approach them all, this is no different and is why I added a new melody etc, I love the Adam Ellis remix also, played it in every set for a year

Yeah,i always point to the Adam Ellis remix on how a 'modern' rework should be done....i also like the Marco V remix - love what he did with the vocal before the kick comes back in.

Laughable reading this post. It’s an iconic track with a modern remix that is unmistakeabley a Sneijder track. If it’s not your cup of tea that’s absolutely fine but it’s a different unique remix that clearly does the damage in clubs so from that perspective alone, well done I say. (For the record I like it!).

But just imagine having never produced a successful track in your life and then having the nerve to slate a well respected, successful pioneer of the scene for doing something different that will undoubtedly be successful and potentially bring new listeners to the genre.

I do wonder if other genres suffer from such ridiculous ‘fans’

Here’s the thing man, and probably something you will struggle to grasp as you sound like a bitter unhappy individual. Electronic music is literally my life, and has been since I was 12 years old, I live and breath it. Bandwagon ? Behave !
good for you mate, not that it makes it any better for me, generic 138 stuff and lately some festival trashtrance like this one

this isn’t in reply to your opinion on the track, you’ve already made that clear, it’s in relation to your suggestion I jumped on the 138 bandwagon, which simply isn’t true, I have stuck with my sound and shaped it since I started, generic too you maybe, but to me it’s my sound and I stand by it

There's room for this kind of music in Trance, why wouldn't there be?. Honestly shocks me how some people are still not getting over that fact. It's like they are personally offended that someone wants to make music that doesn't align with their taste, and feel the need to engage in warrior mode because of it. Just focus on the tracks you like maybe?

But when there is a lack of them. What would I do? What I mean is that no one and I mean no one generally wants to make old school melodic trance. People have attempted have done a half-assed attempt and they sound like they have a short shelf life compared to the older trance.

In my opinion, it’s a very generic uplifting trance remix. It’s not good, not bad, for a specific audience that enjoys this kind of sound. It’s unclear why people are paying so much attention to it and have so many expectations. This style hasn’t changed in decades, unlike progressive trance. Though, talking about progressive trance in 2026 is almost laughable because it’s completely dead. I’m talking about the main stage on the biggest trance labels, not some isolated Bandcamp releases .

The vocals make it terrible but without them its a fine track. Sounds very much like Billy Gillies.
