No one can. The most popular thread in the Classics section in the old place. Absolutely stunning, and still massively overlooked.

To me he's not on par with them. He's the best trance has ever seen.

Laurent as an artist is still massively overlooked as a whole - absolutely criminal. He was on par with Armin,Tiesto,Ferry etc in 1999...and look where the popularity is.

Yeah I couldn't agree more. He is still one of the most well known and prolific/high quality artists the scene has ever had. Always trying new things and sounds, excelling in all the styles. And he never fucking sold out either! What a legend.

IIRC the most viewed classic was Industry, but O was definitely up there among the top 10 classics.

It does not get much better than this. The quality of this production is crazy.

This track can make time stand still. 15 minutes passes without me even knowing.

if for real i think hundred(s) tracks. but if biased maybe few. not because it's not good but because it's just an biased opinion/taste. for example So Many Ways is also great idk.

Sure is. Im all in for diversity. Its not a competition :)

I wrote that in the heat of the moment, and not as an elitist provocative comment. Theres no pedestal where theres a THE best trance track of all time, like some dictator. But seriously, if you are, have been or currently are a fan of trance - This track has most ingredients to be called a great track, hasnt it?

Edit: Most music can be criticised and faulted, including this track but thats not the point, the point is recognising the qualities.

this is actually a "good" and relative question. i would still consider it be more personal, different people have different dynamics/preferences. it's like "yea it's great but w/e" but some other stupid shit will "move me" thats the difference. it's all about finding your pieces.

Yeah objectively, and when dissected to its ingredients, I guess you would be able to make an argument for an X amount of other tracks being better, but there's just something about it... Something I can't explain, and I've noticed that on a couple of other Laurent's tracks, from his first few years.

For me - 'Moonshine' is the much better track, and the ultimate Planisphere track imo....i don think anyone else made that style of Trance ever, with the long atmospheric breakdowns and the kick finally coming back in. There has been quite a few different structures of Planisphere tracks - 'O' is another style while 'Nothingslave was totally different. But i just love that long breakdown style he had with Moonshine and a number of others like Totem.
