do you really want to bring it there?
Well, it sure meant a lot more trance events and talented trance producers in various sub-parts of trance. Plus, people wouldn't put on a weird face as much when you say you like 'trance' as now. People now are like: what? trance? isn't that like 60's, something obscure for old people?

yeah? you honestly want genZ kids to pick this up as "popular" again and have big american pop-labels jump on that bandwagon for bucks?

There's always a core in small scenes that pray for said scene to become popular, until it actually does. and then its more often then not quote on quote " ruined"

Be carefull what you wish for. 💡

As an experiment,i just looked at the 'distrokid' (one of the labels people would use to release AI tracks) releases on Beatport from this first week in 2026 alone - theres at least 1,500 releases!!!!

My question is,why are people bothering?! Youre never going sell ANY tracks unless youre a known name or have buildt up a good following....

i get a really depressed feeling when i listen to all that...scammers trying to take all the revenue from hard earning artists. But then again i feel lucky ive managed to ans still do earn revenue every month from my music - but who knows what the future holds.

To (Dutch expression) put a Heart under your Belt.

I think it is very, very likely, that in the coming AI shlop era, a niche market for “human” music will appear, in the same way you can now choose to get Factory Ikea cutlery vs a craft cooking knife, hand-forged and woodcrafted by a single guy in bumduck Siberia somewhere.

our “market” is one of niche already primarily inhabited by connoisseurs for the genre who will (say) happily pay 20 bucks for a vinyl with all the Spotify and free YouTube music at their disposal.

Knowing that AI music is inevitable, I do not know what energy we should spend fighting it. We will not win, the protesting is pointless. The only behavior that is worth pursuing is to counter the machine out with the human output. Where machines remake what already exists, the human can create what's never been done. So just maybe the next phase of music see's a creative backlash.

Or frontlash, remember, an AI can only create an average from input. That input has to come from humans, aswell as the prompt to generate it.

I forsee third option where genuine artists will create original (master) pieces, and then have their own ai crank out the volume (and handle the copyright lawsuits amongst each other)

Maybe it's somewhat applicable for now, but I wonder how it will work in the future, when music produced by AI will be indistinguishable from that produced by humans. But at least it's a clear statement.
