Rank your favourite Gaia tracks!

I don't know why, but lately I found myself revisiting Gaia tracks - stuff like J'ai Envie de Toi was one of my first points of contact with trance in 2012 and I naturally loved it.

But tastes evolve, so would be interesting to see how you would rank them now - especially since a lot of time has passed since the better ones were released.



So my thought was, let's then create this dumb thread!

What's your top 3/5? Make it in specific order, or unordered. Maybe even include numerical ratings just to piss people off! Make forum chaotic again! MFCA!!!



Before, I would definitely rank all (up until and including Stellar, with a notable exception of Moons of Jupiter as a whole) of them highly, but nowadays it's maybe a handful of tracks I even like.

I would definitely rank Status Excessu D and Aisha as personal favourites among the bunch, but I also have to give a nod to 4 Elements as potentially being objectively the best.

In my opinion, all three are melodically very strong. Status Excessu D keeps evolving and evolving, with lots of elements combined really tastefully. Main melody is epic. Vomit all you want, but I love it. Aisha is probably the most standard of the bunch, but I just love the way it's executed, from start to finish. 4 Elements is properly understated and perfectly balanced. It's a track you respect.

Not a big fan of Gaia. My favorite is "Stellar", and I’d place all the anthems and hits from Gaia in second place, mostly out of nostalgia. Of course, when you hear "Tuvan", "J’ai Envie de Toi", or "Status Excessu D", you’re transported back to those warm, cozy times of Armin Only and ASOT festivals. Back when the show was still enjoyable, with tons of cool sets, cool IDs, and specially written anthems chosen by listeners , those were great times. And for third place, let it be the unexpected "Themisto"))

Then Stellar and Saint Vitus are ok-ish, but not worthy of being ranked. Rest is not my cup of tea, never liked Jai Envie De Toi either.

The ones in the top5 are great though.

Not so much a track but more of an album. I have a softspot for " concept" albums so to speak and Moons of Jupiter definitely tags that box

I could think of a few possible answers, ranging from Rank 1 - Opus 17 (sound-wise) all the way to Bobina - Invisible Touch (Ferry Corsten's Touch) (a similar progression). Not a "rip off" per se, but these are possible sources of inspiration.

Then again, Armin has always been ok with lifting ideas and sounds from other producers. Some of his biggest tracks do that.

Tuvan has those 4 plus 4 other chords though. So is has a sequence of 8 chords. While the other track only uses those 4 as sequence.

Other than those 4 chords, I don’t see why you should call it a rip off of that track. It has some similar features, but thats all.

Tuvan (Andy Blueman Remix) is in my top 10 ever.
Love the Sandeagle Rework as well.

Jai Envie De Toi & Empire of Hearts also well up there. I realise the latter is that "Armada" sound but I absolutely love this the melody.

I feel entire flow and vibe is ripped off especially Harding remix , it's really a remix and I listened to it a lot this year.
