The Humate remix is just brilliant. I agree with:

As a track made in 1999, the Humate remix was really ahead, and it still sounds great today and has stood the test of time. There is no problem playing this out again in 2020. It sounds 10 times better than most bland techno tracks out there (although this ain´t techno) Has the flare and emotion and builds up to a great hands in the air feeling. Suberb golden piece from the hay-days of the second wave of prog."

The remix from Tom Middleton is pretty nice as well.

I updated the OP to include the original. Its been a while since I listened to original, its a nice one. 2.8 million views on one of the YT videos, had no idea it was so popular. Never owned or played the Ayla remix much, isnt it from a particular complication? its also nice.

Humate remix the favourite for sure! Here it is (gold)

Ohh yummy Humate.

check here:

The lyrics are a quote by Johan Georg Zimmermann: 'Rest, the greatest happiness on earth, very often comes into the heart only through loneliness.'

Schiller is still super popular in Germany. 'Ruhe' was nr.22 in the CDM sales charts.

Humate were absolutely on fire from 1998 - 2001. Produced and remixed some of the greatest trance and prog ever made. In fact they had been around since the early 90s but I'm not that familiar with the earlier works.

The remixes of the two Schiller tracks were particularly well received and lauded but there were lots of others. Some are available on Beatport and have been picking them up lately.

In the late 90's was Humate just a solo project of Gerret Frerichs, the guy behind 'Loops & Things'.

Oliver Huntemann left the project in 1994, Patrick Kjonberg left in 1996.

Humate and Ayla mixes do it for me, especially the Humate one. Really reminds me of the Global Underground/Gatecrasher CDs released around this time.

What are your favourite Humate tracks?
I'm not sure about the originals, but these remixes are my totally my cup:

Nova - Welcome To The Future (Humate Remix)
Saints & Sinners - Peace (Humate Remix)
KayCee - Love Stimulation (Official Humate 1998 Remix)

Kaycee - Love Stimulation is a cover of Humate - Love Stimulation, and is remixed by Humate. Great remix though, a completely new track which bears no resemblece to the original.

The Nova track is a new discovery for me, nice.

Is there an online store in Germany that sells mp3s, something like Beatport? I'm looking for some 90s tracks by German producers but cannot find them in the usual English /American shops.
