Congrats on a collaboration and getting played on ASOT. I would have preferred if your older releases were played on ASOT. Not sure if Sean tyas reads these threads but I am hoping sean you comes back to your older sounds those releases from 2006 - 2008 were absolute dope.

Amazing trance track, this has so much emotion behind it. The bass is what makes everything else shine. When is the extended version arriving?
Hey,m glad you like it! The track was released last friday and is available at Beatport :)
The Bass is what makes the track (and the title ;) )

Why when making the choice between oldschool and modern sounds did you both decide to go the modern approach? I wish you pulled Sean into your world, not the other way around. This is a very good track but without the signature sound it's not at the same . Your self releases vs your Pure Trance releases are sounding way nicer man. There is a real demand for this sound, don't compromise by merging into something pulls you closer to all the other forgettable sounds.

Man, you'd better warned us that you're gonna release more modern-sounding track😂. Jokes aside, it's a good track, and it's nice that you don't stick to only one style but expand yourself and getting broader audience. But fon't go too far, we need your old school tracks. Otherwise, I'll happily replace you in your throne😜

I would say maybe it's something pure trance would have said but correct me if I am wrong. I don't think pure trance signs anything that sounds oldschool as in pre 2008 sounds. I wish Sean Tyas would return to his older sound because his remix of open your eyes was one of the first tracks I heard from him or at least show some people how to make them because I really miss them.

When we done this track neither of us forced or decided anything. It wasnt ever a track where one of us said we would go in a particular direction, but more that we would just see how it evolves naturally. The only primary focus on this was we wanted to use the Lately Bass sound from my old DX21 synth.

I feel to be an artist, you have to do what feels natural to you at that time.
Im at an evolving stage with Enigma State and I do feel in order to expand and grow I need to take a side step at times, try something new, and then bring it back into my own solo stuff. You can take the throne if you want haha.

Who masters your tracks when you do a self release, e.g In My Fantasy?

Digital self releases, are done by me.
The vinyl are done by the engineers whoever I use to press.🙂

Wouldn't call myself a mastering engineer though, but I get by.

I would love to know if you learned anything from Sean that you didn't know before.

Not to an extent. We've very different in the way we produce.
I do have a new found love of a lower tempo though after doing this and have a done a couple tracks that are around 132-135 with the retro ES sound since.
One thing I've took is his detailing for effects. Something I felt I could improve on.
I think one thing Sean mentioned was about my use of the 909 sounds and said they was simple yet very effective and think he may have used it since.

The way we done this track was Sean started the track off and sent me a 16 bar loop and was like "this could be the intro".... then I cut it up spread it across the canvas and that intro was turned into the main hook. We had a couple back and forth with the project and then that was it.

Well, I hope you work on another track. I really miss those journey kind of tracks they are somewhat lacking in today's scene.

Or something even better because kandi is not part of this collab anymore so won't be the same end product as expected from the previews. Perhaps something like sundriver/n20 remix collab type track with Enigma state signature sound 🤔 👌
